Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2014
Very good! To cut some of the heat, I modified by adding about a cup of chicken broth and a T of BBQ sauce. It still had enough a kick to it. Like others suggested, I put the shredded meat back in the crockpot for the last hour or so. Served on lettuce wraps with a bit of bleu cheese dressing. Delish! For the kids, I served on buns with provolone. I used a 12 oz bottle of sauce and the whole packet of ranch and it wasn't terribly salty - probably depends on the type of sauce you choose.

Black Beans and Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2014
I make this every week for my husband who is on a low-carb diet. I double the amount of beans and salsa and he eats it throughout the week. I season the chops with s&p as well as onion powder. I also add about a t of onion powder to the salsa/beans. It's really delicious and inexpensive. Works with chicken and stew meat, too!

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2014
Very tasty! I used this for a rather cheap cut of steak and all the picky eaters in my family loved it. The only modification I made was using bottled lemon juice. I added the tobasco and minced garlic and next time will add a little more.

Easy Lasagna II

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
My husband loved this recipe, as did my picky 3-year old! Older kids are cheese-lovers, so the amount of cheese mixture was perfect for us. I used a jar and a half of spaghetti sauce and next time will use the full 2 jars. Not enough sauce. I also used minced garlic and chopped onion while browning the beef, and sprinkled garlic powder in the sauce. I think next time, I'll use red pepper flakes.

Grilled Chicken and Potato Foil Packs

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
Very tasty! Like other reviewers, I doubled the spices. I also substituted olive oil for vegetable oil. I grilled at 400 degrees for 40 minutes and both the chicken and the veggies were very tender. The family loved it, and clean-up was a breeze. Best of all, I had all the ingredients in the house and didn't have to make a special trip to the store.

Oven-Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
This was a hit! I gave it 4 stars, because I did alter a little bit: I read other reviews that it was a bit bland so I substituted the salt for Lowery's seasoned salt 1 teaspoon and increased the pepper to 1 teaspoon. Chicken was tender and the skin was crispy and yummy. You could probably decrease the amt. of butter and still be fine.

Chicken a la King II

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
I used the whole can 14 oz can of chicken broth and increased the milk to about 1 cup. Otherwise, it's way too thick. I also added about 1/2 cup of frozen peas instead of pimentos with the chicken. Very good, will serve with frozen egg noodles next time.

Parmesan Chicken I

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
Be careful using the "high" setting. At 3 hours, my chicken was overcooked. Otherwise, good flavor.

Whitechapel Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
This was very good! I substituted the following:I used about 1/2 small bag of baby carrots, leftover sliced mushrooms for the parsnip and rutabaga. Instead of frozen peas, I added a small can of peas to the beef mixture. I also used a 16 oz can of tomato sauce. Easy to make and quick to serve.

Tater Tot Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
My three picky eaters loved this casserole! I liked the quick prep. I added about a cup of chopped rottiserie chicken breast that I had on hand and a cup of frozen green beans. Like other reviewers, I added about a half cup more cheese.
