Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: May 13, 2014
I had a rather large cake so I made two batches of frosting. One with all butter to use as a crumb coat and filling, and one to use as the main frosting and piping. The all butter was lovely and wonderful and I will make it like that again. And honestly, the batch with shortening was kind of gross, didn't spread nearly as well, and I'm truly disappointed. It piped okay, but what difference is a pretty cake if it doesn't TASTE good?

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2014
My very first try with this fondant didn't go over great, but it was my fault. I used drop color instead of gel, which I think added too much moisture to it. When I made it the second time, I bought the Wilton brand color and BOOM! This was amazing! It took the color wonderfully, was so very easy to use, and it was very easy to "paste" fondant decorations on the cake I made using just a drop of water. I used powdered sugar instead of cornstarch or flour when rolling. I have a bakery friend who has asked for my recipe because of the ease and the wonderful taste!

Amazing Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
The first time I tried this recipe, I forgot the eggs! But it still turned out great. Today I'm making it again but am changing the vanilla flavored pudding mix to a different flavor and adding coconut! Such a versatile recipe! I LOVE it! (So does my family!) Update: I made this again, but didn't have vanilla pudding so I used banana creme instead. To even it out I added about 1/2 cup or so of peanut butter. Wow! Still amazing! This is probably one of the most versatile recipes EVER! Still love it!

Pork Chop Casserole III

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2013
After reading some other reviews I tweaked this just a bit. I added garlic to the rice/soup mix. I salted the pork chops on top before cooking. And in another small pot I cooked another 1/2 cup (dry measurement) of rice just in case. Sure enough, I did need the extra rice, but after stirring it in to the finished dish, the consistancy was perfect! Very good, and I'll certainly make this again!

Libby's® Pumpkin Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
I liked it but there just weren't enough cranberries so I doubled the amount of cranberries and added chopped pecans. NOW it's the best bread ever!

Buckeyes I

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
To help get the chocolate to stick better, I put in half a cake of Gulf Wax in with the chocolate chips when I melt them. (I cut the wax into small pieces first so it won't take so long to melt.) It doesn't change the flavor and the chocolate stays a bit more firm on the candy itself.

Party Mint Patties

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
I really do like the flavor of these, but it took mine nearly two full days to harden up the way I wanted them. Next time I will try forcing more powdered sugar into the recipe. Oh, and I used the back of a spoon to flatten them because I didn't want them to look like peanut butter cookies! :)

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
Really wonderful! My only complaint is that my crockpot is too small to add many veggies to this! The gravy is so flavorful that what was left over is now in the freezer as beef broth! When I first find a recipe, I write it on a standard index card until I get it "just right" at which time I move it to a real, decorative recipe card. This recipe makes it in one jump! Thanks so much for sharing!
