Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
Very, very easy! And the Mazo balls were very light! I actually added them to a box of Lipton Chicken Noodle soup! :) DELISH!! Thanks for the easy recipe.

Russian Tea Cakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
I thought these turned out really great! I used 1 1/2 cups ground pecans, because I had already used walnuts in two different cookies. It was a nice change up, but as a result, I did need to add some cream...about 4 get the right, doughy consistency. Of course then, the dough was a little too sticky, so I wrapped it in saran wrap and refrigerated it overnight. Next day, I took out the dough and sliced it like a loaf, then each slice into a 'cube' which really made rolling them into the right sized balls really easy. Took no time at all, and I was done with the entire batch! I baked these at 325 for abut 7 minutes. My oven runs a little hot, so this was perfect. Really nice, nutty flavor to these and very pretty presentation after shaking in a plastic bag with powder sugar. FYI - My powdered sugar stuck just fine! So really, I thought this was a pretty good recipe, even with the little adjustments I had to make due to adding extra nuts.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2010
This recipe will insure you never use packet or canned sloppy joe mix, again! I always used packet mixes for my sloppy joes because of the ease of use. Until I found this super simple, no-fail recipe! You can't screw it up! And you can add and subtract whatever suits your taste with whatever you happen to have on hand. I was out of ketchup, so substituted one can of tomato paste and a little water tonight. Turned out excellent. The first time I made it, I actually added 1/2 packet of spagetti sauce seasoning, because I didn't have any garlic powder. Turned out excellent. I love the consistency of this recipe, and I love that I can omit the green peppers and onions and still have a tasty meal. These are the sloppy joes I remember as a kid! Excellent basic recipe you can play with if you don't have exactly the right ingredients. Thanks for sharing this one!!

Angel Food Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2011
Wonderful, perfect recipe. BETTER than the old fashioned stuff, as I always did not like the chocolate coating on the old stuff. I just melt milk chocolate chips instead and it is a dream come true. This is my mother's favorite candy and she loves that I can now make it for her homemade.

Anna's German Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
These are great!! My grandmother is from Germany and these are exactly the same as hers! I just couldn't remember the recipe...or find it for that matter. She pretty much kept her recipe box in her head and now she's gone, so here I am searching! another poster said, this does make a good portion of dumplings. (Or maybe just a few really BIG dumplings?) Anyway, I did add 3 tbs. of dried parsley to the dough, and yep! Just like Grandma's!! THANK YOU!!

Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
Well, YUMMERS!! This was by far the best baked spaghetti recipe I have ever tried. Of course, I did a little doctoring...not crazy about canned pasta sauce, so I made my own sauce with a packet of McCormick Spaghetti seasoning and added a can of crushed tomatoes to that, along with an onion and 1 lb of browned hamburger. I also added 3 tbsp of dried parsley flakes and 1 tsp of garlic salt to the ricotta before smoothing it on top. Used fresh grated romano instead of parmesan...that's all I had...and just sliced the very soft mozzerella cheese you can buy in those water tubs and scattered it over the top like pepperoni!! VERY flavorful and VERY filling!! The only thing I will do differently next time is skip the tin foil. (Wish I'd have read the other reviews, first!) That made kind of a mess when cutting. Other than that, adding this recipe to my 'keeper' file was a no-brainer!! EXCELLENT!!

Caramel Frosting I

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
Excellent recipe! I did add 1/2 cup more brown sugar to make it a little more someone previously suggested (I think she actually suggested an entire cup, but I only had 1/2 cup dark brown sugar and it turned out great) but I thought the consistency was excellent. Have actually made this twice now...once to drizzle over a spice bundt cake (added a little more cream to thin it down) and once to frost a walnut apple cake. Really easy, and really tasty. Not sure how much adding the extra 1/2 cup brown sugar added, but I think without it, it would not have been as caramel tasting. Very good recipe you can tweak to your liking. Thank you for sharing.

Potato Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
VERY YUMMY!! I had a bottle of clam juice that I wanted to use up, so I subbed it for the water. And I didn't have any milk, so I used half-and-half, instead. Also...I had only 4 strips of bacon so I used them all up...2 strips crumbled and mixed in as suggested, and 2 strips crumbled over the top to serve! As someone else suggested, this is a hearty main course when served with a side of crusty bread and salad...and that's exactly what I did, too! Most leftovers, though. Next time, I will double everything so I can enjoy the leftovers for at least another day! Thank you for sharing this simple, and very tasty recipe!! I will make it again and again!
