About this Cook
Happily married with no children, but a big family none the less.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking and desserts. Doesn't matter if it's cake, pie, bread, cookies, or anything else. Just as much, I love to make main courses for dinners. I'll try nearly any recipe once. Except fish, especially since I'm allergic.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking IS our family tradition! We have some recipes that have been passed down, but not many. I think mine will be the first ones to really be passed around most because I make great efforts to share my recipes.
My cooking triumphs
I can successfully pull off a three course meal in under 30 minutes, using whatever you have in your house! And on a more personal level, I finally have one recipe that is so requested that I now know it by heart, result of making it so many times.
My cooking tragedies
Absolutely every recipe Rachel Ray has ever created has gone horribly WRONG in my kitchen. And I have to say that those are the only disasters I've ever had. Hmmm... gee, what a strange coincidence...

Avocado Smoothie
It tastes so very strange. I tried to give it a chance, but I did not care for it..

No Crust Strawberry Pie
I didn't use sugar-free pudding and gelatin because it sounded like that would not be good. While trying to boil the mixes and water, it began to cook to the edges of the pan, so there was no way to get it to a full boil because I had to constantly stir it. Once it was set, the "pie" would not slice and be set onto a plate the way it looks in the picture. I think the only way that could be accomplished is if it was frozen solid. This is a mushy, messy dessert that falls to pieces even when you try to spoon it out of the dish. And as if the presentation wasn't bad enough, it tastes bland and has a bitter aftertaste. I'll never waste strawberries on something like this ever again.

Honey-Garlic Glazed Meatballs
I made this with pancake syrup instead of honey and got a slightly smoky flavor to it. How cool is that? I also doubled the sauce. Next time I'm gonna triple it & skip the pan frying step.
