About this Cook
Busy mother of 3 boys that also works full time outside the home.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that the boys want. Especially pies, cakes and cookies. They also love it when I make my mom's recipes like meatloaf, chili, pepper steak, cheesy green beans, chicken noodle soup, stuffed peppers and many, many others!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family never had traditions other than going to both sets of my grandparent's houses for all major holidays. I wanted my kids to have something special to remember so a few years ago, my husband and I decided to skip Thanksgiving with our families and celebrate at home instead. So, every year I make a full Thanksgiving dinner. The boys love it! I also get up early on Christmas morning (luckily my kids don't get up at the crack of dawn) and make homemade cinnamon rolls. Once they are done, I put them on a Christmas plate and we eat them next to the fire before we open gifts.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph was when I made my first Thanksgiving turkey and it turned out great!
My cooking tragedies
I have NEVER been able to make homemade gravy and this saddens me to no end! I love homemade gravy!

Wedding Cake
This cake was amazing! Like others, I think the consistency was more of a pound cake but that made it even better. The taste reminded me of Tastefully Simple's almond pound cake mixture only better! I served it with raspberry topping which was really just a raspberry filling recipe that I found in a Betty Crocker cook book. The flavors were amazing together. Everyone loved it and I will definetly be making it again and again!
