About this Cook
My first son was born July 9, 2013 and passed away August 17, 2013 to SIDS. My husband and I are still heavily grieving and cooking is therapeutic for me. I'll forever be Max's Mommy.
My favorite things to cook
Tiramisu, Creme Brulee, Calzones, slow cooker recipes, Beef Wellington, kheer, Chicken Saltimbocca, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Steak, filet Milignon. Spinach and ham Swiss cheese quiche.
My favorite family cooking traditions
my father's secret ingredient is always soy sauce, I'm trying to create my own cooking traditions for when we have any more children.
My cooking triumphs
I finally made the perfect Tiramisu, creme brûlée and meat loaf. I'm also quite fond of sour cream noodle casserole and chicken casserole. My husband loves my amended recipe of Mongolian Pork chops
My cooking tragedies
Recently made the mistake of glazing honey butter croissants before baking them. A note for the future: it caramelizes

The Best Meatloaf
I used this as my base recipe. As others recommended, I used leftover stuffing crumbs instead of regular bread crumbs. I don't like cooked peppers so I used celery and used a red onion rather than a plain white one. I ran out of steak sauce so I mixed some ketchup with Worcestershire and liquid smoke ( tastes just like steak sauce) and finally I mixed in a packet of Lipton onion soup mix. After adding these things, I believe it is the BEST meatloaf I've ever tasted. My amendments gave it the perfect flavor. Served with garlic/red mashed potatoes and green bean casserole.
