Joanne's Super Hero Sandwich

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2011
The proportions and flavor of this sandwich were not pleasing to us. I used tarragon vinegar and did not like the flavor. It also seemed like about twice as much meat as needed. We also did not like the olives. It seemed like there were too many flavors competing to top one another. It's a good concept...I'll admit that. I will do a LOT of tweaking to find the right combination for us. And we loved the sliced mozzarella - had never had it on a sandwich before. The concept and the cheese got it the second star.

Chicken Pot Pie VII

Not sure why, but I just wasn't thrilled with the flavor of this. I was expecting more. Probably won't make again.

Pam's Bierocks

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
Followed the recipe exactly as written, and it was delicious! I grew up eating authentic German bierocks every year during Oktoberfest at my church, and I thought these were every bit as tasty. My husband has been requesting them - says they're perfect with mashed potatoes and gravy. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!

Chocolate Oil Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
This was a good cake. My husband wasn't crazy about it, but he likes things very sweet, which this is not. It was easy and very moist. Would make again if someone else would eat it with me!

Blueberry Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
Very yummy! I found that this tastes best if made a day or two in advance so that the flavors can meld. I followed the recipe exactly - the only note I would have to add is that I used bottled Tropicana orange juice, which I usually drink for breakfast. There was some confusion as to whether this was supposed to be the juice from a fresh orange or bottled, because the bottled is much sweeter. I made it with the bottled, and while it was sweet, liked the flavor exactly as it was. Will make again!

Berry Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
These were absolutely excellent! I did make a few modifications - I omitted the wheat germ, used brown sugar in place of white sugar, used unsweetened applesauce in place of the oil, and used 2 egg whites in place of the whole egg. These were very tasty - will make again!

Kelsandra's Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
I followed the recipe's directions exactly and these did not turn out well. They seemed very doughy and my husband and I both ended up with stomach aches. Not sure if the problem was on my part or on the recipe's, but I won't be making it again.

San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
I found this recipe to be very tasty. It had a good texture. I was worried about trying to make it here in Georgia because the atmosphere (humidity and the like) is so different from San Fran. But it was really, really good. I'll definitely make it again!

Sourdough Starter

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
Had a bit of trouble with the first batch, but I think that was due to my "beginner" status when it comes to sourdough bread. Worked out really well the next time - will make again!

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
While I found the dough to be a bit difficult to work with, the flavor is excellent! I will definitely be using this again and probably just work in a little more flour next time.

Microwave Popcorn

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
I cut the recipe in half because that I found it was too much for a lunch-sized paper bag. It's the perfect amount for two to share, and it's so tasty! I substitute olive oil for the vegetable oil. This recipe is a definitely money-saver in my home!

Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
Sooooo good! Used the Boiled Chicken recipe by George on this site to make the chicken. I used a 4 lb. whole chicken. After the meat was done, I removed the meat from the bones and returned the bones to the pot and simmered 1 hour more to make the most wonderful broth. I used this broth in place of the water in this recipe, adding any additional Swanson's broth as needed to meet the amount required. I will never use water and bouillon again! (Also, as others suggested, I used 1 bag of Reames' frozen noodles.) I will definitely be making this again - it's a keeper!

Boiled Chicken

Fantastic, fantastic chicken. Used to make the Chicken Noodle Soup by Sherry on this site - and it was fabulous! Will definitely use again (although I may use chicken pieces rather than a whole chicken next time, to save time).

Oven-Roasted Asparagus

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
Good - it had a bit too much salt for me, but was otherwise good. My husband is not a big veggie person, and he said he would eat this again - so 4 stars!

Ham and Pear Panini

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
This was delicious - loved the combination of flavors. I followed another reviewer's advice and used 1 slice of swiss cheese per sandwich rather than the mozzarella. Will definitely make again and again!

Fiesta Pinwheels

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2011
These were okay. I did follow the recipe exactly. I found them to be a bit much for my taste. I could only eat a couple, not because of spiciness, but I guess my tastebuds were overwhelmed from all of the ingredients. Okay, but probably won't make again.

Juicy Grilled Corn On The Cob

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2011
I soaked the ears of corn 30 minutes, using Splenda rather than sugar, and then microwaved the corn following the recipe from "Microwave Corn on the Cob" on this site. It was the best corn I have ever eaten - very juicy, slightly sweet, and tasty! Will definitely make it this way from now on!

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Made to recipe. The broccoli absorbed the soy, and all you could taste was the soy sauce. Will not make again.

Asian Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2011
Very bland - I marinated chicken tenderloins for three hours (it recommends one) and basted every two minutes during 12 minutes of broiling. Absolutely awful. Would not make again.
