Okay...not sure what I am doing - buy this is my first blog entry.  My life is cooking....that's what I do and that's what I am all about.  I am in the process of writing a cookbook and cooking my way through Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking.  I have a great husband - and three wonderful kids who ALL are in college - wasn't the best financial planning on our part.  I am called Chicken Jo because I have a pet chicken....Fluffy...she is 13.5 years old.  She is still a sweetie even though she doesn't lay eggs anymore.

Welcome Chicken Jo,I wish you all the luck with your cookbook. I had a couple of chicken a few years ago. It was my husband's bright idea. It didn't last long as they were too much work and smelly to boot. Now we just have 3 dogs which is one too many for me. I also love to cook mexican and have a casserole in the oven as I write.

Welcome to blogging Chicken Jo. I admire you for cooking your way thru Julia Childs cookbook. Did you watch that movie Julie/Julia with Meryl Streep? I loved that movie! I thought Meryl was amazing as Julia Child. I have never had any chickens. I just have a dog and two cats. good luck with your blog and cookbook!

Thanks for the welcoming comments!!! I do agree - AR can be addicting - but it is a great resource. The comment about chickens being smelly is very accurate, but baking/cooking with a fresh chicken egg is like none other. I wouldn't mind adding to my coop!!!
