I'm the daughter of a baker, so baking has always been special to me. I LOVE making cookies. I'm still working on my cook skills, I like to make vegetarian and healthy meals. I'm a US citizen but I'm currently living in Buenos Aires. I work for a software company and also have a travel website (

My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and I have All Day Cookie Weekend every Christmas. We spend 2 long days baking 6 varieties of cookies, over 1000 in total, then we give them all away.
My cooking triumphs
I recreated Cookie Day in my tiny apartment in Buenos Aires. I made 300 cookies, mixed by hand. I have no dishwasher and no temp control on my oven- they all turned out great!
My cooking tragedies
The first time I attempted to bake in college, without all my moms ingredients and cooking utensils on hand, I was so frustrated. The oven and pans were all wrong and my baking soda was expired. My chocolate chip cookies turned out tasty but flat. I was so embarrassed I almost tossed them but college kids will eat anything so I gave them to some hungry boys.

Quinoa and Black Beans
This is deicious! I added red pepper and some hot sauce. Sadly, I didn't have any cilantro, I imagine that would only make it better! This is an easy, healthy dish that I will definitely make again.

Fruity Couscous Salad
I was so skeptical about this recipe. I am usually all about fresh fruit so I just didn't see how dried fruit and cumin was going to taste good. I am so glad I tried it, it tastes great! I wasn't able to find dried apricots so i used dried peaches and I used white grape raisins. The colours weren't as pretty but I loved it. I also squeezed an orange on top to moisten it. This is quick and easy, perfect!

Colorful Four Bean Salad
I had to make a few adjustments because I live in Argentina now and the food variety is not as great. I basically just picked 4 different types of beans, whatever I could get. I had to skipe the pimiento peppers too. I used red wine vinegar and less sugar and it still turned out really tasty! I don't eat much meat so this is a great way to get protein and a perfect summer dish.
