My mom and dad were great cooks. I spent a lot of time in the Kitchen. I began cooking at Ponderosa Steak house at 16 and joined the Army at 17. I was "You guessed it a cook" When I got out 6 years later I continued cooking and got a degree in Culinary Arts. I owned 2 resaurants and trained cooks in my time. At 40 I went to nursing school and now work as an RN. I still love cooking and am changing my attitude to a more healthy style of cooking. I am getting older you know!
My favorite things to cook
anything and everything. But twice baked potatoes, and stuffed chicken breasts with many variations. are my best.
My cooking triumphs
Getting the merange right on my pies.
My cooking tragedies
After going to cooks and bakers school in the Army I came home on leave and told my mom I would bake her a Cherry pie. The Army taught us how to make 30 or more pies at a time but not just one. I made the dough and when I was through my poor mom, all 4'8" and 90# had to use two hands to lift the trash can that was full of leftover dough.
