Pork Chops with Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2014
This is wonderful! Used fresh thyme in the flour dredge from the garden, and after cooking in a cast iron skillet, made the sauce with raspberry/jalapeño jam, balsamic vinaigrette and the oj, with more fresh thyme. Holy buckets, I could use this sauce on everything, and did! Mashed potatoes, corn, the pork. Thanks for the fantastic idea!

Slow Cooker Apple Cider Braised Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2014
I love Chef John-- the only cook I follow. Made the recipe exactly as is, but added cooked bacon to the top of the roast, and a bit to the liquid, which included baby Yukon Gold potatoes soaking up the love. Fantastic!

Chef John's Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2013
I think you changed my husband's life for the better good. . . Something as simple as a gravy (which I don't care for) and mushrooms (again, moi, ick), made my grandmother's birthday meatloaf for my husband and in-laws fantastic. Thanks Chef John! There's not a recipe you've made that I haven't loved. Well, I skipped the gravy boat here, but I get a 'get out of jail card' on this one.

Bryan's Sweet and Hot Tomato Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2010
WOW!! I haven't been so stunningly pleased with a recipe for a long time! I made this sauce to go with 'Meatball Nirvana' posted by lovestohost as a sauce for meatball hogies, and I love the initial sweetness, followed by the spice. A little mozzarella cheese lightly toasted on top, and it is a perfect hogie. . . Thanks Bryan!

Ham Loaf I

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
I was scared by the addition of the evaporated milk--it looked 'soupy'-- but this was hands down the best ham loaf ever!!! Made whipped sweet potatoes only flavored with butter and s&p, green beans and rolls. Think this will be a Christmas Eve dish this year!
