French Chocolate Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
Maybe ny yeast was old, but the dough didn't rise. The cake was very hard and dry. It looked really pretty, but no one ate it.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
I've always made this type of recipe with frozen bread dough, but thought refigerated biscuits would be easier for my two little boys to make for Christmas morning. It just wasn't as good. I'll stick with bread dough. I bought butter-flavored biscuits on accident (Walmart changed their packaging); that didn't help.

Colossal Caramel Apple Trifle

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
This recipe was too big for my Pampered Chef bowl. Next time, I will probably use only one frozen whipped topping and cut the cake thinner.

Bodacious Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
I was hoping this would have the same taste as the broccoli salad at Ruby Tuesdays. It's close.

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I first made this cake for a St. Patrick's Day Party. It's light green color was festive.

Raw Apple Cake

Good without the frosting, but even better with the frosting! I may add pecans next time.

Cream of Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
A nice addition for Thanksgiving, but I don't think I'd enjoy it the rest of the year.

Chocolate Chip Cookies V

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
I used Mexican vanilla and vanilla pudding, which gave it a stronger taste. I also made a giant cookie in a 15x10 jelly roll pan and baked it for about 18 minutes.

Mashed Potato Layer Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2010
I made this, froze this, and took it to our family beach vacation. It was a nice treat and much easier to put together at home.

I like apple cake. I like chocolate cake. I'm not too crazy about the combination.

Baked Penne and Smoked Sausage

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
If I make this again, I would layer the pasta, peas, sausage, cheese, and onions. Mixing it together prevented some of the pasta from baking. I would add carrots too.

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
I followed the advice of others and doubled the pumpkin and cinnamon and added pumpkin pie spice. I also substituted Splenda for sugar and unsweetened applesauce for shortening. It was a bit "spongy" and not crunchy like expected for a cookie. However, my four year old said they are his new favorite cookie.

Italian Rigatoni Casserole

I used half of the ground beef and half of the sausage and about 1.5 cups of mozzarella/mixed Italian cheese and a total of 32 ounces of sauce (Ragu light tomato and basil).

Chocolate Waffles I

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
My family (that normally loves chocolate) would prefer regular waffles. This also made a mess of my waffle iron.

Marcia's Famous Sticky Buns

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
The boys weren't crazy about the buns, but our Sunday School class loved them. I did not use the instant pudding and used more than 12 ounces of rolls.
