Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
Very dense. Was good, but I prefer other banana bread recipes I have.

Raspberry Banana Bread

Very good! Used frozen rasberries because it was all I had, and it turned out great!

Eagles Tailgating Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
I don't know what I did wrong, but my hamburgers would NOT stay together... They tasted good, but fell apart too easily. I'll try them one more time...

Heavenly Angel Food Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
Very good! Won't make packaged angel food cake from the grocery store anymore! Made this for a friend's birthday party and EVERYONE loved this! I baked in one 9in and one 10in springform pan (only needs to be in the oven 15-20 minutes at the most - easy to keep an eye on it). I stacked the two cakes using a mixture of Cool Whip and pureed strawberries in the middle. I then topped the whole cake with Cool Whip (using the low fat Cool Whip is a healthier option) and added strawberries. Delicious!

Applesauce Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2010
Very good. Like other users, I only used 1 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Next time I will use only 1 cup. I also found it was runnier than I would have liked (even after putting it in the fridge). But very easy and my husband loved it.

Excellent! I'm always looking for ways to use up ripe bananas! These were very good - I LOVE chocolate! :)

Oat Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
Great base recipe! I added coconut, shredded carrots, raisins, ground flax seed and cinnamon to mine. (I like a lot of stuff in my bran muffins!). I found that I had them in the oven less than the recommended time (only about 15 minutes)

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
Very good! I cooked this for my husband and me for dinner, and I loved it! I am always looking for new recipes for the BBQ, especially now that it is getting really warm, and I try not to cook in the house as much. I didn't make kabobs, but I used the recipe as a marinade for chicken breasts. I will definitely be making this again!

Death By Chocolate III

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
Very simple concept, but very good! My husband wanted me to make this for his mom's birthday, and it was very well received! Everyone had extras. I made it right before dinner because of previous people's comments about it becoming soggy. However, we ate the leftovers the next day, and didn't find it too soggy at all. I think I even liked it better the second day with the pudding and whipped topping soaked into the brownie. Will definitely make again!

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
Very good! This was my first time making quiche, and I thought it was successful. I did not have a full package of the feta, but I used as much as I could (would have been better with the whole package) and then used more cheddar. I also didn't use the deep dish pie crust because I had an extra regular one in the freezer. As a result, a lot of the filling spilled out (my own fault). Next time I will make sure to use a deep dish.

Cheesy Beef Spirals

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
Very good and easy to make. I only made minor adjustments. 1) I didn't have any American cheese, so I just added more mozzarella. 2) During the last 5 minutes (uncovered) I added some Parmesan cheese to the top. 3) While cooking the sauce/beef mixture, I added some oregano and Italian seasoning for more flavor. And 4) I didn't have any spiral noodles, so I just used regular spaghetti noodles. My husband loved it! "It's like spaghetti, only BETTER!"

Janine's Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
Very good. A little more dense than other banana breads I have made, but still very good! I made mine in muffin tins, so I reduced baking time.

Apple Harvest Pound Cake with Caramel Glaze

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
Very good! Absolutely delicious. Brown sugar topping is delicious. Only complaint is with baking time. I baked mine for just under and hour, and even then I think I could have taken it out a couple minutes earlier. Keep an eye on it while baking to determine how long it should be in the oven.

Foil-Pack Taco Chicken Dinner

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
Delicious and very easy to make! I didn't have chicken breasts, so I used boneless chicken thighs instead. I didn't make it with the potatoes because my husband wanted french fries instead, so I can't comment on other people's bad potato results.

Creamy PHILLY Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
Excellent!!! I cut the recipe in half (cooking for two) and made individual pies. I didn't have chicken breast, but I had boneless chicken thighs, so the meat was very tender. I also used puff pastry instead of a pie crust - this was delicious! The cream cheese gives it a great flavor!

Lemon Cream Cupcakes

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2010
Very good! I love lemon cupcakes, so I added a little bit of lemon extract to the cake mixture. My first batch I baked for 20 minutes, and they were a little more brown than I wanted, so the second batch only took 15 minutes. I didn't use the frosting only because I LOVE a topping that I use for a refrigerator cake recipe of mine: 1 package of dream whip, 1 package of Lemon pudding, and 1 1/2 cups of milk; mix it with a hand mixer on med-high for 3-8 minutes (until stiff). I baked these for Easter, so I added some food coloring to the frosting to make it festive! I also expected the cake to be more light than it was (more dense like a cake). It wasn't bad, but I was just expecting something a little lighter.

Cottage Cheese Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2010
I really enjoyed this meatloaf and the cottage cheese. It's hard to describe what it's missing, but I think it needed more of a tangy flavour? Maybe more ketchup? Overall though, it was a good meatloaf. I may try altering the recipe next time to add more flavour.

Sweet Corn Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
These are fantastic! Very easy and tastes great. I tried another cornbread recipe for my family Christmas dinner, and they turned out awful! Before making these for a group of people, I thought I would test it on my husband, and he loved them! :) Next time I was to try them with corn as others have suggested!

Pesto Shrimp Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2010
I loved this recipe! Didn't give it 5 stars only because I found the basil a little strong, so I used less and also added a little bit more oil. I also didn't have asparagus, so just omitted it. Loved the crushed red pepper flakes.
