Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
Yeast hates me, but this recipe turned out. Delicious! The dough itself tasted a little salty, so next time I'll cut back a bit, but I think that is just me.

Crispy Chicken Wontons

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
The filling was delicious! I didn't have any water chestnuts, so I chopped up 1/4 cup of celery instead. I also added about 2 TBSP of chopped green onions. The reason that I rated it as a 3 was because the wonton wrappers tasted floury. I don't know whether it was the type of wonton wrappers that I used or what. Next time, I think that I will fry them. Too bad, because I liked the fact that they were so healthy!

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
Even my picky husband liked it!!! It is so healthy too. I have to admit that I made a few alterations. I only added half of the chicken stock (3 1/2 cups) because that was all I had. I added 3 cups of water to make up the difference in volume. I didn't add any wine or bay leaves, again I didn't have any. To make up for the lack of salt from the chicken stock I didn't use, I added 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of garlic powder for an extra kick. Finally, I used two cans of Italian stewed tomatoes for the tomatoes. Despite my alterations, it turned out great. I will make this again!

Orange Pan Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
It was okay. I liked the subtle orange flavor, and the nutmeg and sugar coating was yummy. However, the rolls tasted a little too floury.

Avocado Chicken Wraps

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
Quick and easy. I flavored the chicken with garlic powder and paprika before I cooked it. I added black beans too. Next time, I will throw in some red onions and fresh tomatoes.

Lemon Garlic Hummus

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
I made this for my girlfriends, and they loved it! I used olive oil instead of vegetable oil. I also substituted garlic powder for fresh garlic. I added some chili powder, and voila! It was delicious! I will definitely make this again.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
This is the best bread pudding I have ever eaten. I filled a 9 quart casserole dish with dry sourdough bread chunks and followed the recipe for the liquid ingredients. I did have to bake it for about an hour and a half before the egg set. For the last 15 minutes of baking, I put the lid on the dish, and the eggs cooked much faster. Next time, I will put the lid on as soon as the bread on top gets crunchy.

Beef Bulgogi

Delicious!!! I cooked some in a pan on the stove and broiled the rest. The broiled was definitely more tender and flavorful.

Bubble 'n' Squeak

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2010
Delicious! Even my husband-who hates ham and potatoes-and my 1 year old daughter loved it. I made a few changes. Because I used honey glazed ham, I omitted the bacon so that the flavor of the ham was the main focus. I microwaved the potatoes to save time. I used olive oil to saute the onion (omitting the butter), then added the ham. Also, I doubled the paprika, added garlic powder and seasoning salt in addition to salt and pepper. My potatoes were a little dry, so I added 1/4 cup of water to the bottom of the pan, covered it, and let it simmer until the liquid was absorbed-about 5 minutes. I will definitely make this again.

Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
This frosting holds up well, which is exactly what I wanted. However, it did not pipe out as nicely as I wanted it to. Great taste! I omitted the almond extract, and added 1/2 cup powdered sugar in addition to the 1/2 cup white sugar to stiffen it up and minimize the tang of the cream cheese.

Crispy Orange Beef

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
Delicious! The sauce was amazing, and the beef came out crisp and hot. All of my orange juice was mixed up already, so I added 8 TBSP of unconcentrated orange juice. The beef could have used more breading in our opinion, but I will definitely make this recipe again.

Honey Brie Spread

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
Heavenly! I only had enough brie to fill 2 small triangles of crescent roll dough. BIG MISTAKE! I was dying for more. The smooth melted brie paired perfectly with the sweet honey.

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
Divine! I made this for a dinner party, and it was a hit! I did blend the tomatoes before I cooked them so that the sauce didn't have big chunks, but I left the minced onion pieces for texture.

Chicken Honey Nut Stir Fry

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
This recipe was okay. It had a nice orange and ginger flavor to the sauce, but it was lacking something. Next time I will add minced garlic. It was easy, though. I used peanuts because I didn't have cashews, but it was still good. Warm the nuts before you serve them to bring out the most flavor.
