Honey Wheat Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
My family loves these rolls. I halve the amount of honey, use all wheat flour and reduce the amount of salt.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
This had really good flavor. I used skim milk and cornstarch instead of cream. Cream would have been better, but we are health conscious. I used 2-14 oz. cans of Basil, garlic, and oregano flavored tomatoes instead of plum tomatoes, and I decreased the amount of salt.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
Fantastic! My in-laws raved about it. They confessed that they didn't like sweet potatoes much, but they came back for seconds of this casserole. I baked 4 sweet potatoes, reduced the white sugar to 3/4 cup, and used evaporated milk. Next time, I think I will reduce the white sugar even further.

Super easy and delicious! I sprinkled it with grated Parmesan cheese and a Texas toast crouton before serving. My guests were impressed.

My family loved it! I added a couple of tablespoons of hoisin sauce, used grated fresh ginger and substituted celery for the water chestnuts.

Bacon Risotto

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2010
Delicious! I didn't have enough chicken broth, so I used half chicken broth and half ham broth. It had a great flavor. I also halved the butter and didn't miss it a bit!

These pancakes were just like the ones at a pancake restaurant. Thick and hearty, but airy on the inside. Delicious!

Chicken Honey Nut Stir Fry

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
This recipe was okay. It had a nice orange and ginger flavor to the sauce, but it was lacking something. Next time I will add minced garlic. It was easy, though. I used peanuts because I didn't have cashews, but it was still good. Warm the nuts before you serve them to bring out the most flavor.

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
Divine! I made this for a dinner party, and it was a hit! I did blend the tomatoes before I cooked them so that the sauce didn't have big chunks, but I left the minced onion pieces for texture.

Honey Brie Spread

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
Heavenly! I only had enough brie to fill 2 small triangles of crescent roll dough. BIG MISTAKE! I was dying for more. The smooth melted brie paired perfectly with the sweet honey.

Crispy Orange Beef

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
Delicious! The sauce was amazing, and the beef came out crisp and hot. All of my orange juice was mixed up already, so I added 8 TBSP of unconcentrated orange juice. The beef could have used more breading in our opinion, but I will definitely make this recipe again.

Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
This frosting holds up well, which is exactly what I wanted. However, it did not pipe out as nicely as I wanted it to. Great taste! I omitted the almond extract, and added 1/2 cup powdered sugar in addition to the 1/2 cup white sugar to stiffen it up and minimize the tang of the cream cheese.

Bubble 'n' Squeak

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2010
Delicious! Even my husband-who hates ham and potatoes-and my 1 year old daughter loved it. I made a few changes. Because I used honey glazed ham, I omitted the bacon so that the flavor of the ham was the main focus. I microwaved the potatoes to save time. I used olive oil to saute the onion (omitting the butter), then added the ham. Also, I doubled the paprika, added garlic powder and seasoning salt in addition to salt and pepper. My potatoes were a little dry, so I added 1/4 cup of water to the bottom of the pan, covered it, and let it simmer until the liquid was absorbed-about 5 minutes. I will definitely make this again.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
This is the best bread pudding I have ever eaten. I filled a 9 quart casserole dish with dry sourdough bread chunks and followed the recipe for the liquid ingredients. I did have to bake it for about an hour and a half before the egg set. For the last 15 minutes of baking, I put the lid on the dish, and the eggs cooked much faster. Next time, I will put the lid on as soon as the bread on top gets crunchy.
