Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Unbelievably good! Followed the recipe exactly, but w/ only one chicken. The most moist & delicious chicken I've ever made. I'll be making this for my in-laws when they come for dinner for the first time. Wish me luck!

Great Garlic Bread

I doubled the recipe for two large baguettes to serve with spaghetti at a large dinner party. Our guests came back for seconds and thirds! I'll be using it from now on whenever I need garlic bread.

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Not very impressive. Was disappointed after reading all the reviews. I used homemade chicken stock rather than store bought, so perhaps that was the difference. It came out fairly bland and needed a lot of salt to have any flavor. Will not be making again.

Chicken 'n' Biscuits

This was a great dinner: fast, easy & delicious. I cut the quantities in half since it was just for my husband & I. I also took some suggestions from other reviewers; I added a little garlic and onion powder to the biscuit mix as well as a handful of cheddar cheese. I didn't have any bacon, but hubby requested it for next time. :)

Tasty Lentil Tacos

The basic recipe is good, and I will probably make it again. But, I'll have to increase the spices a lot next time. It was a little bland for my tastes. I made them as written and served with Best Black Beans from this site.

Marinara Sauce

Not bad, but the wine was a little strong. I used a Cabernet, so maybe something different would taste better. I simmered the sauce with some frozen meatballs to serve over polenta for a quick dinner.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

These are definitely the best pancakes I've made in a long time, but I still haven't perfected them. I did substitute a gluten free all purpose baking mix for the flour (hubby is gluten sensitive). They turned out soooooo much better than other gluten free recipes I've tried. Hopefully, with more practice I can get it just right. :)

Herb Roasted Pork

This was a very good recipe, but I'm not giving in 5 stars b/c I wasn't too crazy about the combination of the sauce with sage. I made this for Valentine's Day dinner w/ my hubby. I used a 2 lb. pork loin, so I cut the cooking by about half. I still made a full recipe of sauce & it was just enough. I'd really like to try this with chicken, so if anyone has already tried it, let me know how it turned out. :)

Mediterranean Lemon Chicken

I took a lot of advice from other reviewers which helped a lot. I doubled the sauce recipe and used it as a marinade. Be aware that the sauce is very strong smelling but doesn't overpower the chicken. Up until I tasted it, I thought it was going to be gross. After cooking the chicken, I poured the drippings into some plain brown rice that I had prepared. Served with some steamed broccoli & it was fabulous!

Chicken Enchiladas

I was nervous about these until I actually tasted them. I followed the recipe almost exactly, and they were great! I did add a generous handful of cheese on top. The second time I made them, I added some extra enchilada sauce on top, but I don't think I'll do that again.

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

I've made this several times since my original review with much better results. I cut the recipe in half and use only 1 lb of ground turkey. It has made its way into my regular rotation, and I've given the recipe out to a number of friends. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because I want to make it again without repeating a few mistakes that I think I made. I took a lot of the advice in other reviews: soaked the breadcrumbs, added lots of spices, subbed bbq sauce. So it was good, but I don't think the turkey was thawed enough; it was a little mushy in the middle. I also want to cut down the turkey a bit. 2 lbs was waaaay to much for my fat-draining loaf pan. I got positive enough feedback from my husband and parents to try it again.

I got mixed reviews with this recipe. My husband said it was 'too grapey' but my father (a wine lover) said it was fantastic. I would definitely have to invest in a food mill were I to make it again!

Quick and Easy Goulash

My husband liked this a lot, but I wasn't impressed. I was expecting something with a richer beef flavor. It didn't taste anything like the goulash we had in Budapest. It tasted like spaghetti to me. I did take some of the suggestions listed in other reviews, but I don't plan on making it again.

Best Black Beans

This was a great recipe, but I was nervous right up until I tasted it! I used only half a small onion since I'm not a big fan. I also simmered everything for about 45 minutes in 1 1/2 cups of chicken broth. I added some cayenne pepper right at the end and topped each serving with a bit of shredded monteray jack cheese. My husband liked them but asked me to roll back the heat a little.
