About this Cook
I'm a clinical dietitian, working in large county hospital in Minneapolis, in the burn unit and the neuro/surgical ICU. I have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. Son is a Civil Engineer, 2 daughters - one is an Interior Designer and one is a small animal Veterinarian. My husband is also a civil engineer. We're getting close to retirement and are trying to figure out where we want to live after retiring.
My favorite things to cook
Soups, "comfort foods", healthy foods with lots of veges, fruits. Love to bake everything from bread to desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Not many - I like to make new things all the time.
My cooking triumphs
Holiday meals - I like to cook for big groups.
My cooking tragedies
I can usually figure out a way to save my failures so I'm still able to serve it.

One Bowl Brownies
This is a great recipe - I used to make these years ago from an old Pillsbury cookbook and I'm so glad I found it again. I like to make them thicker, so I bake them in a 9 in square pan.

Morgan's Waldorf Salad
Nice tangy dressing. I added some fresh grapes, too.

Navy Bean Soup I
This is definitely a keeper. I always soaked the beans overnight, so I was curious to see how the beans would come out. They were perfect - better than when I soak them, because they weren't as mushy. I didn't have the diced tomatoes, so I used 8 oz tomato sauce and 4-6 oz of water and turned out just fine. I also used the Easter ham bone along with the chopped up ham.
