About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful children. I am laid back and love cooking for my large family (with notice, of course). I am in school full time and hope to be a dental hygienist.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My father did most of our family cooking growing up. He is an excellent griller and BBQer. My mother's specialty is her amazing meatloaf that is requested for every birthday in our family. My large southern family loves to cook. We love to try new things in addition to tried and true recipes at every holiday.

Ron's Bread Machine White
The bomb and easy to make. I will make this into dinner rolls next time.

Grandpa's Popcorn Balls
These were the hit of the Halloween party! My husband said they were the best popcorn balls he has ever had. Tip for beginners: any time you cook sugar, use a pot that is much much larger than what you may think you need. It will bubble up and boiling sugar is not fun to scrape off of a stovetop and could cause serious injury to your hands. I learned this the hard way making jelly for the first time. You could also make these caramel popcorn balls by substituting 1c of the white sugar for 1c of brown. It takes 4 regular sized bags of microwave popcorn to make 5 quarts.

Beer and Brown Sugar Steak Marinade
This marinade was excellent! It compliments the natural flavors of the beef. The sauce was also excellent. I boiled it down until it was thick and served it with the steak. Do not worry about over marinating with this one because the marinade tastes like....well....steak.
