About this Cook
I am a Southern girl who has recently moved in w/ my boyfriend & now has a family of four to feed. I am rising to the challange of keeping my food flavorful yet still healthy and hearty enough to feed all my guys.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, Mexican, Southern
My favorite family cooking traditions
My father's side of the family is Southern. My mother's side is Mexican. It is important to me that I master both traditions.
My cooking triumphs
Super proud of my recent victory making teacakes. I also make a mean gooey butter cake.
My cooking tragedies
I just can't figure out white cheese dip, i can never get it like the restaurant's.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic
Very easy to make. I too, skipped the flour. I flattened the chicken. Okay, but don't think I will make again. Kinda bland.

Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos
This isa great one! It's easy to make and I am asked to share this recipe by multiple people EVERY time I bring it. Here are some tips for people that don't work w/ peppers much. When cutting so MANY peppers always wear gloves. The oil from the pepper can give you quite a burn on your skin (it took me 3 whole days to get over mine). Also, if you don't want them so spicy, use a paring knife to take out all the white paper like lining inside of the pepper. That's where the heat is. These are not good cold. For parties, I gut the peppers and premake the stuffing. I just stuff them at the party and pop them in the oven. Super important: DONT FORGET THE RANCH DRESSING (I use the chip dip kind).
