Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Thanks for your great recipe!!! I am making chicken chili in the crock pot for dinner tonight. I knew I had to make this to accompany it. I have made this once before and absolutely think it to be the best sweet cornbread recipe I have ever made! I can't wait to eat dinner tonight! I make it just as stated; no changes necessary!

Layered Chicken and Black Bean Enchilada Casserole

Excellent casserolel!! Thanks for sharing your recipe. The only changes I made were to add a can of drained corn, and intead of putting the last 1/2 of the sour cream on the top with the final layer of cheese, I served it on the side. Delicious!!!!! Everyone in the family was impressed.

Far Breton

I wanted to use leftover prunes and found this recipe. I made it as written with the exception of the vanilla sugar. I added 1 tsp vanilla instead. The presentation was impressive, the preparation simple and the result was delicious!!!! My husband was equally impressed. We just ate it, warm after about ten minutes. I want to try it cold tomorrow. Thanks for a great recipe!

Neat Sloppy Joes

This was the best sloppy joe recipe I have tried in years!!! It was the right combination of sweetness and savory. I followed the recipe almost perfectly except I used fresh garlic and sauteed the celery, onion and garlic with the hamburg to save time. Thank you so much for sharing!

Orzo with Tomatoes, Basil, and Gorgonzola

I had some grape tomatoes to use up and so I did a search for "pasta and tomatoes", and this wonderful recipe was amoungst my choices. I must I chose well. This was delicious!!!! Other than using chicken broth instead of veggie and using grape tomatoes instead of cherry tomatoes, made it as called for. My husband and I ate all of it!!!!

Baker's Secret Pie Crust

Thank you so kindly for sharing your wonderful recipe. For years I have made my pastry crust with just shortening and it was very good--flaky, pesentable but not as flavorable as those made with butter. But this recipe is everything a pastry crust should be--flaky, delicious and beautiful. I have been making it with 1/2 whole wheat pastry flour and 1/2 K.A. unbleached all-purpose flour as I did not have cake flour on hand and I used a little bit less water. But other than those minor changes, I followed the recipe exactly with great success. Right now, I have just made a double batch to do some English baking--treacle tart, and lemon and raspberry tarts. This pastry is just perfect for these!!! Again, I thank you for sharing!!

Grandma's Fresh Apple Cake

Thanks for a tasty treat! I went apple picking yesterday and have lots of apple to use. This looked like the easiest apple cake recipe on the site, but after making it, I am sure it is one of the best as well. I also added a little vanilla like another reviewer, but that was the only change I made. It was so moist and delicious--wonderful with a nice cup of coffee. Thanks so much for sharing with me!!

Indian Pudding

Thank you for sharing such a delicious recipe! I had had this dessert at a restaurant many years ago, and during an outing yesterday to see fall foliage, I thought of it and searched this Website for a recipe. This one seemed to be the best and I apparently chose well, as it was delicous!!!! I did not change a thing. A great New England treat!! Served it with vanilla ice cream. Yummy!!! :)

All-Day Apple Butter

Thanks for a wonderful recipe!. We went apple picking yesterday and I was looking for a new way to prepare some of them. I also used three cups of sugar (1/2 brown and 1/2 white), as suggested in other reviews. Cooked it all night and ate some this morning!! What a wonderful aroma to awaken to!! :)
