About this Cook
I am a mom of 4 kids and a grandma to 1 baby girl. I love cooking for my family and challenging myself with new recipes and ingredients I have never used.
My favorite things to cook
Healthy meals with lots of flavor! I like to take a WW recipe and spice it up for a low point explosion of flavors without the added calories/fat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a long line of great cooks so there are just too many family traditions to write.
My cooking triumphs
I am most proud of the recipes I make up on my own that turn out Yum-O
My cooking tragedies
I once made a curry chicken dish that was so incredibly spicy we had to throw it out after a few bites. Great way to clear out the sinus's though. =/

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ
We've made this pulled pork for about a year now and it's the best ever! We do add liquid smoke and have found that if we have a pork shoulder and let is cook on low for about 24 hours its just melts in your mouth. My family made me promise not to let it cook overnight as they can't sleep with the incredible aroma that floats around the house. I just can't make that promise. =) Great recipe, easy to do and everyone loves it.

Swedish Meatballs I
I made some adjustments to this recipe and the family loved it! I prepared meatballs as recipe states, however I used lean ground turkey breast instead of the beef and added garlic. I lightly floured the meatballs and cooked them in canola oil until brown. I placed them in casserole dish and added sauce and baked for 45 min. I did add a pint of sour cream to the sauce to help thin it out and give it some more flavor. We served the meatballs over cooked brown rice and garnished with flat leaf parsley. This is a slightly healthier alternative to the original recipe. The meatballs were moist without being too soft. I crowd pleaser. =) YUM-O

Banana Bran Muffins
I loved these muffins. I made them as the recipe was written and was thrilled. Maybe next time I will replace the butter with applesauce for a healthier muffin but even 1/2 c. is not too bad. My family is going to love these if I don't eat them all first!
