Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
I made this yesterday and it was amazing! It was the first pie I have ever made. I didn't have any corn syrup left so I used 1 tablespoon of molasses and 1 tablespoon of honey instead. I also added 1/8 teaspoon of allspice. I also used the store bought pie dough to save time. The batter was very runny like others said but it firmed up perfectly. And it took about 75 minutes total to cook. I covered the edges of the crust with tin foil and my crust came out perfectly browned! I'm definitely making this for Thanksgiving! Thanks for this wonderful recipe!

Festive Shortbread Logs

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
You can't find an easier recipe than this one! I just made these for the first time and it definitely won't be the last. The only thing I changed was using butter instead of shortening with the chocolate. I melted the chocolate in a glass bowl in the microwave and then set it over a pot of simmering water to keep the chocolate melted. (only use 2 inches of water in the pot. Don't let it touch the bottom of the bowl.) I drizzled the left over chocolate over pretzels. Yum!

Creamy Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
My new favorite lasagna in the world! I didn't have chicken boullion so I just left it out and added a tsp of oregano and a bit of pepper to the chicken/cheese mixture instead. I also used 9 noodles instead of 6. And I didn't have enough mozzarella cheese so I used mozzarella and parmesan. I covered with tin foil and removed it the last 20 minutes of cooking. Make sure to let it sit for at least 10 minutes after it comes out of the oven. This was fantastic and I will be making this again soon! Hubby had 3 servings and took more for lunch today!

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
I just made these and all I can say is WOW!!! I took some of the other suggestions and used 2 egg whites, 1 tbsp vanilla instead of the water, and 1 tsp of cinnamon. I shook them in gallon sized bags and it worked wonderfully. I'll will be giving these as gifts this holiday season. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!

Easy Lasagna II

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
My husband loves lasagna so I have been searching for a good recipe so I could make it for him. Since finding this recipe a few months ago I have made it 4 times. My husband loves it!!! The only changes I made was adding chopped onions and minced garlic to the meat while I browned it. This is so yummy and worth trying!!!!

Glazed Apple Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
These were so amazing! I'm not a huge fan of baked apples but these cookies cured that! I made a few changes that were suggested by others. I grated 2 medium apples, used milk instead of half & half for the glaze and added cinnamon to the glaze. Half of the batch I left out the nuts and raisins and the other half I added walnuts. I baked them at 375 for 7-9 minutes then let them cool before I iced them. I took one reviewers advice about freezing the glaze for 15 minutes and my oh my did that works slick! I will be making these cookies very often!

Hot Corn Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
What a great dip! I made this last night for our small group and it was gone almost instantly! I only had yellow corn on hand and I added 1/2 tsp of cumin like others suggested. I also added shredded Colby Jack cheese on top and broiled it the last 4 minutes. I will definitely be making this again soon!

Chocolate Butter-Creme Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
My new favorite frosting! I just finished making this for my father-in-law's birthday and it was soooo easy! I did double the recipe and I added a total of 5 chocolate squares. I am so glad I found this recipe. This will be the only chocolate frosting recipe I use from now on!
