Donut Muffins

This is very good! My kids loved it and my neighbor wanted the recipe as well:) was wondering if I could speed up the part of dipping in butter and covering with cinnamon sugar.... I am curious to try it with soy milk instead of milk and maybe glazed chocolate and just plain glazed the next time:)

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2012
I made it this morning for Easter Brunch with friends. I didn't have plain yogurt and out of white sugar as well, so I used buttermilk and light brown sugar instead. I also substituted vegetable oil for unsweetened apple sauce. It still turned out well~!!! It was not too sweet, moist and well received by others:)

Cranberry Hootycreeks

I wanted to know if it tasted good, so I tried and loved it! My son really enjoyed it as well. I used fresh cranberries instead and reduced sugar amount which I always do with any dessert recipes since our family prefer subtle sweetness. It is a great recipes:)

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
It's very easy and fast to make. The taste is pretty good:) I followed the recipes as it was the first time, 25 minutes bake time was too long--a little burn on tops and got hard around muffins. The second time I made this I reduced the bake time to 20 minutes, and it was much better!

Heavenly Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
This is really good! I used it as the filling for the chocolate cake I made for my husband's birthday. I love the fact that the egg york is cooked to 160 degree, so I don't have to worry about my kids eating it:)

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
I just made it this morning. I have followed some advices other reviewers had suggested--cut down sugar to 3/4 cup, add fruit preserves (I used raspberry) before pouring cream cheese layer, cut down butter to 1/4 cup. It didn't really "wow" me, but was pretty good. The taste of crescent dough kind of throw me off--I will try pastry dough the next time.

Grandmother's Muffins

I made it this morning and it is pretty good:) I followed the other reviewer's advice to increase the flour to 2 cups. I mixed all the wet ingredients then added the dry ingredients, and it still came out good. I divided up to two patches--added chocolate chips to one and white chocolate chips and dried cranberry to another. Both variations turned out good, but a little too sweet to my taste. I will cut down the sugar to 3/4cup(or more)the next time if adding chocolate chips/dried fruits. This one is a keeper:)

Egg and Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
This is really easy and pretty good~! I used 9inch pie instead of 9x13 for the test run. I also followed the changes other reviewers had made, but cut down the cheese to 1-1/2 cups, eggs to around 7 (I used some egg substitute) and milk to 2/3 cup to fit 9inch pie. I had some left over crescent dough, so I used muffin tin to make individual little ones. It turned out really cute and my kids loved it~! I cut down the cooking time for muffin tins--20 minutes in 350 degree oven because the top started to brown.

I didn't know how it would turn out when I was making the dough...it smelled so good while I was baking! I tried one and couldn't stop eating them--it tasted just like ginger snaps with softer texture. If you liked ginger snaps, then you will like this:)

I made this yesterday and it turned out great! I added some nutmeg after reading other reviews and used three different kinds of apples. I served it with vanilla ice cream and my kids loved it:) It was simple, but very good recipes. It took me a while to prep since I was making four pies at once...! It's a keeper:)

I omit lemon pepper since I didn't have it on hand and I added fresh chopped garlic instead of powder. The favor was good and my kids said it was the best fish dish I have ever made!

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
I just baked the cupcakes using yellow cake recipe. I added extra 1/2 cup of milk and used oil instead of shorting like other reviewers had suggested. I cut down 1/4 cup of sugar and added 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips into the batter. I put all the dry ingredients and whisked them together then made a well in the middle and pour all wet ingredients except eggs and beat them till incorporate then put eggs one by one beat them each time till smooth. It came out nice and moist! I iced them with chocolate whipped cream mix-in crushed Oreo cookies. It was not too sweet, just the way we like it:)

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2011
It was easy and delicious! This is my favorite chocolate cake recipe:) It's good with strawberries, raspberries, chocolate, cream cheese based fillings. Recently I Made a white cake for top layer and this chocolate cake for bottom layer with crushed Oreo cookies mix-in to the batters, then filled the middle with whipped cream Oreo cookies mix-in and finished it off with whipped cream icing and my kids decorated it with fresh strawberries, mini Oreo cookies, M&M and chocolate morsels. It was great!

No Bake Deluxe Hamburger Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
It was a great hit for kids and my neighbors:) My husband thought they really were mini hamburgers when he saw them on a plate on kitchen counter...! I followed some viewers' suggestions to use Keebler's Grasshopper cookies as hamburgers and red and yellow icing as ketchup and mustard, I forgot sesame seeds for bums, they still looked like hamburgers:)

Dirty Snow Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
The filling's very good--not too sweet, even my husband who is not a dessert eater, likes it! My kids can't get enough of it...! They kept coming back to eat the scraps I cut out when I was shaping the cake. At the party, all the kids ate the cake and most of them finished it, even the boy who usually don't eat cakes, ate it up...! The parents have asked me if I could make a birthday cake for him. Like some reviewers mentioned the cake itself did taste a little bland, the combination of butter cream and whipped cream fillings make a huge taste difference! I might try making white cake myself instead of a box next time.

Peppermint Brittle

I made it as other viewer suggested--melt semi sweet chocolate and pour it on the button of the pan first, chill for bit before pouring white chocolate/peppermint mixture on top of semi sweet chocolate and chill. It was very good:) I gave it as holiday treats to my neighbors and got good feedback~!
