About this Cook
I am 29, married, and have 19 month old twins. A boy, and a girl.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make cookies and pies, and cakes. I love to cook for my family, especially for holidays. Now that I stay at home with the babies I like to find new and different things to make and try, instead of making the same things month after month
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hot dog stuff great for parties, holidays, or just having some people over for a movie. I always make zuccini bread around the holidays. I was able to get my grandma's recipe before she passed, and I am glad that my whole family can still enjoy it, and I know that when they take a bite, they think of grandma. It brings back memories
My cooking triumphs
Every year for the holidays my dad asks me to make my ham. He goes and buys the bigges he can find, and all the things I need to make it. He talks about it for a week to everybody that comes to his shop
My cooking tragedies
My first time trying to make bacon gravy. I was out of sausage, and my husband was leaving on a trip for work, and would be gone for a month. His fav food for me to make for him is biscuits and gravy, and I could of swore that I had sausage. My mom told me to try it with bacon. Well we ate it, but it sure wasn't very good. My husband tried to say it was good. But he sure didn't clean his plate like he does with my sausage gravy

Two Step Creamy Cheesecake
I have been making his cheesecake for yrs, and everyone who has tasted it loves it! I alway's have to triple the batch, and put it in my lasagna pan, and there is never any left. I use graham cracker crumbs and butter and a little sugar to make a light/thin crust that is still crumbly, because I am not big on hard/thick crusts. I also find that keeping it in the fridge overnight makes it set and taste not so whipped creamy. So I alway's make it the day before. It's always a big hit!
