first time trying a crisp with nuts (I used pecan instead of walnuts). My husband loved it!

Made exactly as stated in directions and used whole batch for 1 packet of Taco Seasoning that was called for in a soup recipe. Fantastic!

Apple Bread

I also substituted 1 c brown sugar for some of the white sugar and added 1 tsp vanilla. I added some caramel pieces into one loaf - overall a delicious fall bread!

Nutty Pina Colada Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
Mostly followed the recipe. Substituted vanilla for coconut extract, left out the salt because I used salted, roasted pistachios which I left whole and used coconut rum instead of just plain rum. Would probably be good with any tropical flavored rum. Fantastic result, can't wait to share with my co-workers.

Glazed Almond Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
I followed a combination of suggestions. I decreased white sugar to 1 cup, increased almond extract to 2.5 tsp. I also attempted to put 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup applesauce but neglected to add the applesauce. I didn't discover that until after I reviewed the recipe with my mom after my family enjoyed this cake. I thought it was a little dry but adding that applesauce would have cured that! I baked for 45 minutes and sprinkled the bundt pan with sugar rather than flour to create a crunchy topping. Excellent cake!

Biscotti Toscani

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
Unbelievable! The only substitution I made was orange liquor for orange zest. Biscotti came out crisp yet chewy. Definitely a keeper recipe.

Chocolate Cherry Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
Amazing! I love biscotti and this recipe gave me a perfect result. Next time I'll use dried cherries instead of candied, just a personal preference. The biscotti was crisp, yet soft as well. Great with coffee!

This is so yummy! I did as suggested and used 2 Tbsp of butter and it came out perfectly! The second time I made it with Dr. Pepper and it was excellent! I surprised myself because it was so amazingly good!

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
So Good! I did as suggested and cut the butter to 1/2 cup. I added a bit extra garlic and only did about 1 Tbsp of dijon. My husband raved - which is unusual, so I knew I had done good. Served with angel hair pasta and french bread. And so easy to make!

Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
This was a good recipe, although it was a bit chunky. I also did not add the cheese to the milk mixture and layered the macaroni and the cheese in my pan and poured the milk mixture over. I also used half colby jack and half taco blend cheese and minced garlic to give it some zip. I'll probably make it again.

Black Bean Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
very easy to make and tasty as well. I also only used 2 cups of vegetable stock. I increased the garlic and substituted kidney and garbanzo beans for black beans because I was all out. A very versatile recipe that caters to whatever you have in your pantry!

Honey Oat Beer Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
I loved this recipe! I did as others suggested: cooked about 10 minutes longer and used 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. I used a light pilsner and think it would be better with a darker beer. I also halved the butter on top to cut calories. I still thought it came out moist and delicious!

Cheese and Broccoli Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
Excellent recipe. I used it as a guideline as I am a vegetarian, left out the chicken, subbed veg broth for the chicken bouillon cubes. Was a thick and creamy dinner. Next time I'll add some cooked rice and make sure I have some fresh baked bread on hand.

Decreased sugar to approx 1 cup and omitted the orange juice. Served with gingersnaps and vanilla wafers, a hit at the office potluck!
