About this Cook
When I was growing up, my family had rather limited cooking options due to my dad's heart disease and diabetes. The first time I baked cookies on my own was when I was in college! Once my husband and I had enough Top Ramen and Pasta-Roni dinners in the early days of our marriage, I started trying recipes on this website. Five years later, my family has been enjoying much tastier dinners and cooking has been one of my favorite hobbies ever since!
My favorite things to cook
My mother is from the Philippines and a fantastic cook, so I was lucky enough to learn how to make delicious Filipino dishes as a girl. Even though I've learned to cook many other different types of food, Filipino cooking is still an all time favorite. For me, it's the ultimate comfort food.

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin
I'm always a little worried that pork roasts will be too dry, but this was perfect! I used a garlic and herb steak rub with the balsamic vinegar, and the flavors blended very well. I will say that after an hour and reaching a temperature of 145 degrees, the center of my roast was still very undercooked. I put it back in the oven for about 15-20 minutes more until the temperature reached 160 degrees and it was amazing! Everyone in the family was asking for seconds and thirds!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf
Very flavorful meatloaf! Next time I make this recipe, I think I will follow the advice of other reviewers and put the brown sugar/ketchup sauce on top of the meatloaf instead of the bottom. I also think that I will saute the onion or use dried onions because some of the onions were still a little hard even after baking. Otherwise it's an excellent recipe and makes great leftovers!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
Amazing! This is my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. I always follow the recipe as written, and they turn out perfect each time! I did follow one reviewer's baking advice to make sure the cookie sheet is cool before using it. It really helped the cookies maintain their shape. Definite five star recipe!!
