About this Cook
I'm a busy labor and delivery nurse. I love my job but I love gardening and cooking my own produce even more. If I can't grow it I'm trying to find it grown locally and buy from our awesome farmer's markets here in town. My husband and I have several weenie dogs that we love to play with in our spare time!
My favorite things to cook
I have never made the same recipe twice. I love to try new things as I get bored easily. I'm trying to cook healthier and fresher, mostly from my garden.
My favorite family cooking traditions
HA! My mom cooked most things from boxes and "mixes". I haven't taken many recipes/traditions from her except her awesome fudge and carrot cake.
My cooking triumphs
Homemade pasta sauce from tomatoes in my garden, manifique!
My cooking tragedies
Oh.........I have SOOO many! Trial and error is my game!

Easy Key Lime Pie I
I've made this twice now....sooo yummy! My hubby loves it, and he's the key lime pie expert! Thanks for sharing such an easy recipe! I'm not sure now where I read this, but I've been taking the advice of a fellow reader to juice the limes in a garlic press. With some of the smaller limes, I just cut them in half so they can fit. If they are larger, I quarter them. It makes juicing them so easy...just make sure you point the juicer way down in a large bowl or it will squirt everywhere! Thanks again for a "real" tasting key lime pie!

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I
O.M.G! Amazing! I accidentally used pie filling instead of peaches in syrup...and it still turned out great! I used pampered chef's "cinnamon plus" blend and it really brought out the flavors. I'm sharing this recipe with all of my friends! Thanks for sharing!

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken
I'm not sure why there are reviews saying this chicken is dry...I have made it over 10 times with very consistant results...meaning a very tasty, moist chicken (with no cover on the chicken)! I truly appreciate a recipe as yummy and quick as this one! My husband asks for this at least once a week and I'm happy to oblige. I love how the skin gets crisp and how the chicken stays moist...I'm pretty sure I add more paprika (I use smoked) to the mix and use fresh oregano from my garden and stuff the inside of the bird with it as well as putting it on the skin with the other herbs. I also cut a lemon in half and also put it in the cavity...but the recipe is just as good on it's own. I always serve this with dilled carrots and roasted rosmary new potatoes. Thanks Nancy for a wonderful, quick recipe!
