Margaritas on the Rocks

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2012
I've been searching for the perfect rita since a trip 2 yrs ago to San Antonio! This is it!! Smooth, not too sweet or sour. I believe the secret to a great rita is the Grand Marnier. Since these are expensive, I tried the Gran Gala, & it was very good. Don't leave out the Triple Sec either. This is a keeper forever. They go down way too smooth!!

Warm Crab Parmesan Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
Very good "base" recipe for crab dip. Definately follow other reviews, & don't use canned crab. I added about 1 tbl. of old bay seasoning, & a few dashes of hot sauce. Fresh shredded cheese is a must! I think this recipe would be a bit dull w/ out these additions. Placing the dip in a small crock-pot on warm setting is a good idea too. Very good w/ the blue tortilla chips.

Beef and Irish Stout Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
I'm sorry, but this was terrible in my opinion. I have never had a meal fall so flat in my life! This had no flavor even after adding brown sugar, bay leaves, & worcestershire sauce. Maybe I did something wrong, but I followed the recipe exactly. Very disappointing. This is my first bad review ever--sorry!

Better than Sex Cake IV

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
This cake was absolutely delicious!! The only changes I made was I used 1c sugar, used 1 small pkg of french vanilla pudding w/ a pkg of cream cheese added to it. Also used extra creamy cool whip on top. The toasted coconut & pecans are a must! Also, definately make it the day before! Yummy!!

Hot Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
We loved the flavor of this cake, but there was WAY too much sauce for out taste. I added a pinch of cinnamon to the cake mix, & coffee for the liquid. Flavor was great , but next time I'll cut back on the amount of sauce ingredients, & also use less liquid so it will be thicker. Don't even think about serving this w/out vanilla ice cream!

A simple little addition to a classic recipe. Everyone loved the addition of the cheese! I also add a few shakes of soy sauce to mine.

Peanut Butter Pie 2000

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
This pie was sooo easy & good! I added chopped peanuts & miniature choc.chips on top. This gave it a nice look, & delicious crunch. I ended up making 2 since the first one disappeared so fast.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
My kids loved these soft cookies. I think they tasted better w/ french vanilla pudding & a pinch of salt. I will definately make them on a regular basis.

Sandy's Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
This recipe is the ultimate "comfort food". It is so versatile,& would taste great w/ tuna, or just vegtables. I used the 2 cans of chx soup, cooked mac for 5 min, added oregano, salt, pepper, & x-tra cheese. I also added buttered & browned crackers to top last 5 min. I highly recommend the crackers or something crunchy on the top, as it took it from good to great! Thanks Sandy! Will use this as a staple dish for many years,& will have fun "tweaking" according to my mood!
