Fish Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
This was a very easy and quick recipe. I used tilapia instead and it took about 20 minutes to cook. I didnt roll the fish, but instead put the crab mixture on top of each fillet. I think next time I will season the fish before adding the topping. Very good recipe!

Merlot-Peppercorn Steak Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly. I thought there were way too many peppercorns for the amount of sauce it made. It had a good flavor but I prefer a thicker sauce and this wasnt it. Wont make again.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
This stuffing is awesome. I cooked it in a baking dish instead of in a turkey. I used sourdough bread, hot pork sausage, added about 2 cups of chicken stock for moisture, used fresh herbs and omitted the liver. Deeeee-lish!

Snickerdoodles V

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
Delicious! I used 2 tsp baking powder in place of baking soda and cream of tarter (dont like the after-taste). I also used butter flavored shortening. Cooked for 14 minutes on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. They turned out nice and soft, just how I like them.

Shrimp Scampi III

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
This was suprisingly good. I doubled the sauce, used chicken broth instead of wine, and only used about 1/4c of the bread crumbs. Not the healthiest dinner because of the butter, but I will definitely make this again. YUM!

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
This dip is very good, althought I thought it could use some salt. I used a full 8oz of cream cheese and the refrigerated LIGHT alfredo sauce. I served it with white and blue corn tortilla chips...YUMMY!!!

Healthy Banana Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
I made these with my 1 year old nephew and 3 year old niece in mind. Considering the simple ingredients and no added sugar, these were not bad. I halved the recipe and added extra banana so I could leave out the oil. Instead of vanilla I put in a dash of clove and nutmeg. I baked them for 7 minutes at 325 then another 13 at 350. They were moist and not rubbery at all. They tasted pretty good too. The sweetness came from the banana and apricots and dates that I added. I probably wont make these for myself but I think its a healthy treat for kids.

Bierocks (German Meat Turnovers)

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2009
I thought these were good. I couldnt find frozen dough so I used the refrigerated dough. I eliminated the caraway seeds and added a couple more tablespoons of worcestershire sauce. My boyfriend rated them 3 stars and thought they could use a dipping sauce or gravy.

Northwest Steakhouse Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2009
Very good marinade. I tried to sear the meat before baking it, but I used a nonstick pan so it didnt work too well. But the steak was still tasty.

This was really good. I didnt make the sauce to cut calories. Instead I squeezed some lemon juice on them. I made the Authentic German Potato Salad recipe to go along side......what a tasty meal!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Oh my gravy!!! These are sooooo delicious!! The first batch I put the peanut butter cup immediately into the dough when I removed the pan from the oven, then I put the pan in the frig to make the cupes easier to remove from the pan. The second batch i waited about 5 minutes after removing the pan from the oven before I put the peanut butter cup in the dough, then I removed the cups immediately on to a cooling rack. I like the second way better because its faster.
