Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

I made this scrumptious pie for Thanksgiving and brought it to my family's home - hence - no leftovers. I've been craving it since and made another today..a smaller one though since it's only 2 of us. I do like cinnamon in my apple pie so I add that with about a tablespoon of sugar to the apples along with a little vanilla. I tried a different pie crust made with cream cheese for today's pie. It sure looks pretty but it'll be hours till I can safely dig in. This is my GO TO recipe for apple pie from now on. Thanks for sharing this family recipe with the world.

Butter Snow Flakes

One of THE BEST cookies EVER. I made some with the press and a batch as thumbprints too. I tried raspberry preserves and apricot preserves. They were ALL so delicate and YUMMY

Roasted-Vegetable Stock

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Simply yummy. To cut down on the chopping I just used my mandolin and julienned the potatoes. My only addition/substitution was adding 2 julienned carrots and replaced the bullion/water with low sodium broth. I like adding a little shredded cheddar to the bowl before serving.

Bacon Roasted Chicken

My family loves this recipe. I adjusted it to suit the ingredients I had on hand. I used chicken broth instead of beef. I used breasts, drumsticks and thighs placed over cut up carrots and onions and adjusted the cooking time. I placed the roasted bacon in a mini chopper and used it to make a yummy gravy with the de-fatted broth after roasting (QUICK AND EASY WAY TO DEFAT THIS - pour drippings over a large bowl filled with ice - the fat will stick to the ice). It was FABULOUS over the chicken and the mashed potatoes I made with it. I'll make this recipe again and again. Thank you!
