Mama's Italian Wedding Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
This soup was PERFECT for my neighborhood's Italian Progressive Dinner. (I had 'soup/salad' course). I received rave compliments. I also precooked the meatballs in the oven the night before. Doing that also got this most labor intensive part out of the way. I tried to use a melon baller to shape them, but it really didn't work well for me. I then had this simmer to cook in my crockpot the entire day of the party. Yum!

Czech Cabbage Dish

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
Hmmmm...As written, it was a bit too vinegary for my taste--but I added a bit more oil and a bit of sugar at the end to even out the taste. I also cooked the cabbage with the vegetables and skipped the blanching step. We enjoyed it.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
Thanks for a different twist on oven-baked potatoes. My family enjoyed it. I also cranked up the heat to 400 and cooked a bit longer for a crispier skin.

Slow Cooked Corned Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
A success!! Finally...I have found a corned beef recipe that turned out tender and delicious, and it was so easy too. Thanks for sharing. We used an outmeal stout beer (like Guinness)

Baked Potato Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
I've been making this for a while, and it is always a hit at parties. I've known it as 'Potato Skin Dip', and my recipe has it layered: sour cream spread on a plate, then the green onions, cheese & topped with bacon. Then potato chips are used to 'scoop'through it--just another way to present this popular dip at a party!

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
This recipe is so simple and quick, that I wasn't expecting much from the results, but it turned out GREAT! The chicken was moist & tender. Thanks for sharing. This would also be a great recipe for an Atkins dieter.

Sharese's Spaghetti Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2006
I was excited to try this because of the reviews, but this salad was just 'so-so'. No one really ate it. They told me it was 'missing something'

Honey Flaked Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2006
So-so. I couldn't get the cornflakes to stick to the chicken very well either. I probably won't make again.

Grandma's Onion Rings (Southern Style)

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2006
My first attempt at onion rings--everyone raved. I did have some difficulty in keeping the batter from clumping to my hands though. Thanks for the recipe.

Grandpa's Special Stuffing

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2006
Wow! This was so easy to throw together for a quick main dish dinner, and it tasted like a stromboli or calzone (without all the time and work). I used ham instead of proscuitto and added some provel in with the mozzarella. My husband said I could make it again, and my 3 year old said, 'I love the food you made, Mom'. Thanks!

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2006
Tasted great. I had to substitute 1/2 c. bread crumbs as another reviewer did, since my husband forgot to buy the buttered crackers, but it still was a great meatloaf. (I added some chopped up 'real' onions too). Thanks!

Raspberry Tilapia

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2005
I am so disappointed--what a waste. I used 'raspberry white wine' vinegar--should I have used 'raspberry balsamic' vinegar? I didn't think it would have mattered, but maybe that was my mistake?
