Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
this was an easy recipe. I liked them but a couple of people I shared them with LOVED them. I will make it again if one of them requests them. If I do, I will suggest that I bake in a pan instead of cupcakes.

Lemon Icebox Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2010
This is the recipe my mother taught me years ago except that she baked it until the meringue browned which takes longer than doing it under the broiler. We all ate it for years w/ no problems from the eggs. I guess that was before we knew. It is fabulous.

Buttermilk Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
It gets 5 stars just on the appearance. When it comes out of the pan, this cake is so beautiful; a nice golden brown. The outside is very crunchy and I love that. My boyfriend loved the flavor.

Buttermilk Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
My new, favorite Buttermilk Pound Cake recipe! I make this in the rose shaped, Nordicware pan. The outside is nice and crisp but the inside is nice and moist. I don't change anything in the recipe.

Rich Chocolate Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
The recipe was easy but I received mixed reviews. The BF thought they were too sweet, my father loved them. I didn't like the texture. I'm still searching for the perfect brownie recipe.

Lemon Chess Pie II

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
I haven't used this exact recipe but to the person who couldn't get hers to firm up and to others, try using regular pie shells instead of deep dish. I have made lemon chess for years. I have to write down the recipe (it's in my head) and I will post it but I always use regular pie shells and everyone loves it.

Sweet Potato Pound Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
The first time I made this, I followed the recipe exactly. Some of the people who tried it, really liked it but I was not impressed. I just made it again using cake flour as suggested by some other posters. I also added 1/2 tsp. of allspice as I do when I make a sweet potato pie. The result was fabulous. The cake seems lighter and the allspice added a little kick.

Vanilla Wafer Cake IV

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2013
I have made this several times. Trust me, it's better with evaporated milk.

Buttermilk Pie III

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
This tasted way better than I expected. I thought I might like it. I loved it. The top had a slight gritty/crunchiness to it, reminding me of creme brule. I cannot wait to make this for my father. In my opinion, it is too much for a regulat 9" crust but not quite enough for a deep dish. I chose not to use the whole batter and made a regular crust pie. In the future, I will double the recipe and use three pie shells. This is definitely a keeper.

Lemon Lover's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
I've made this cake several times since I found the recipe in 2009. Everyone loves it. The recipe does produce more batter than needed, even with a 10 cup bundt ban so I usually make two mini bundt cakes. I also use more grated lemon and 1 - 2 more tablespoons of lemond juice. I love lemon.

Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2013
I made this cake (from a recipe on Big Oven that was exactly the same) and it is great. It has great color and a lot of butter flavor. I've made it five times in the last 3 weeks. The recipe from the other site suggests rum flavor or vanilla extract. I plan to try that for a change of pace.

Classic Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2013
I didn't have Fleischman's yeast but used my "go to" yeast. These rolls were great. I'm so glad that they make a small batch. My other go to recipes make way too many. I made these to go with a good, southern dinner; ham, string beans, squash and pound cake for dessert. Oh, it was just for me, myself and I and we all loved it.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
I leave out the nuts and mash the bananas. I use a full cup of mashed banana so that is sometimes more than two, more like 2.5 to 3. It bakes beautifully and is so moist and delicious.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
This was so easy. There is a similar recipe, also on allrecipes.com and that one used 3 packages of cream cheese w/ 1.5 cups of sugar. Thinking that I wanted a little thicker filling, that's what I did. I also used only about 1/8 cup of honey on top. I was afraid it would be too sweet. That worked well and I think I will continue to do that. This is fabulous.

Marble Swirl Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2012
It's a nice starting off recipe but as others have mentioned, it is dry unless you make some adjustments. My changes: Increased eggs to 5 increased sugar to 3 cups to the chocolate batter, I add a heaping TBS and a half of mayonnaise - just like the commercial. I also squirt in a little Hershey's syrup. It's a big hit. I bake it at 300 for about an hour and 15 minutes.

Chunky Peanut Butter Cookies

Everyone loves this cookie. After the first time, I have always added a tsp. of vanilla. They still love it. It's hard to eat just one.
