Boiled Bagels

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2012
I really loved these bagels. This is my first attempt. They are completely vegan too! I used Coconut Sugar instead of white sugar for all of it. I also added sunflower seeds, garlic powder, dried (minced) onion, basil, and cumin. Oh, and I substituted 1 1/2 cups of whole wheat four. They are amazing!!! I didn't use any electric stuff either, I hand kneaded them, and they turned out great; just check out the photo!

Curried Chicken

Reviewed: May 11, 2011
I wanted to make it a bit more healthy so I only used boneless, skinless, chicken breast. I cut them up into chunks and cooked them in a wok with the onions, apples, paprika, salt, pepper, and butter. I also used skim milk instead of cream. This was really good, and time saving. I just didn't have 2 hours to make dinner. I would also suggest putting a crunchy green veg. in there as well, maybe sugar snap peas. I served it over long grain brown rice. The sauce was amazing though, and the recipe was really easy to convert. I loved making it a one dish sort of dish, aside from the rice.

Very easy and really good. I would recommend a little more mushrooms, but that's because I really love them.

Bourbon Chicken

Reviewed: May 11, 2011
I just pan fried my chicken and then added the other ingredients. It turned out wonderfully, and I didn't have to marinate over night. I paired it with a garlic and pecan brown rice.

Pumpkin Ravioli with Hazelnut Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2010
I used shells instead of ravioli. It's easier to do and to find. I made this for several events, and it was a hit every single time. Instant tradition... I did use butternut squash instead of pumpkin, but if you can't find fresh pumpkin, you could use canned.

Banana Split Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
There isn't much of a banana flavor after you add all the other goodies. I think a little less chocolate would be better, but this is a wonderful recipe.

Butterscotch Apple Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
They cookie are nice because they're not too sweet. You can really taste the apple in the cookie, but once you put the frosting on top, there really isn't an apple flavor at all. Next time I'm going to make 50/50.

Lavender Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
These are a bit dry, but they are tea cookies, so they really aren't supposed to be super moist. They aren't chocolate chip cookies... Very good, I wouldn't change it at all. Perfect to eat in the fall to remind you that spring is coming...

Really Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
This is a good starting receipe. If you like to doctor things up then, start with this. I didn't measure my banana, I just used 3 and then some peanut butter and cinnamon. I think it could use some vanilla or almond extract. I might even try a little brown sugar next time. All in all the receipe is a good starter, and very easy to make your own. I would never make this bread to the written receipe though, I think it would be a bit bland.

Dark Chocolate Bacon Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
You could also leave the bacon out of it, the cupcake receipe is just amazing. I was really surprised because it doesn't call for any butter. At any rate with or without the bacon it's great!!
