Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: May 25, 2014
This was my first time making ribs and they turned out fabulous! I took the advice of other reviewers and used 2 cups BBQ sauce and 1 cup ketchup and omitted the chili sauce. While baking (before placing in slow cooker) I poured some of the sauce over the ribs. Other than those very minor changes I followed the recipe as is. Lovely, flavorful, fall off the bone ribs that will make your house smell so yummy while they cook :)

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: May 25, 2014
I have been using this recipe for years (ever since I found it here on allrecipes). I love it and so does EVERYONE that I ever made it for. Do not mix the caramel sauce with the apples. Follow the recipe and poor it over a lattice top, I have done it both ways and it is soooo much better if you do it like the recipe says. I do make a couple of very small changes. After cutting up the apples I add a little lemon juice and a tbsp or so of cinnamon to them. When I make the caramel I add a half tsp of vanilla extract and a half tsp of cinnamon to the sauce after adding the sugars. Other than that I follow the recipe exactly every time and it turns out heavenly every time. Another very important thing to remember is the pie will need at least 5 hours to cool, so that it is not runny - that is pretty much the case with all fruit pies. Giving them a few hours to cool makes the taste better too, because all the favors have had a chance to really mix together.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
excellent! I made this as a two layer round cake and used whiped cream cheese frosting from this site and plenty of strawberries. First time I followed recipe, second time made a few changes: Replace water with warm coffee or warm black tea. instead of one cup oil use 2/3 cup use 1 and 1/4 cup sour cream add 1/4 cup of milk use mini choc.chips and reduce to 1 cup Brought this to a social event it was gone in minutes. Everyone kept saying "now that's a cake!!" Great as is and amazing with above changes.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
Excellent!!! I am going to add a photo soon. This was not runny at all. I followed the recipe as is and frosted a two layer chocolate cake (too much chocolate chocolate cake, on this site) with lots of strawberries...sooo good!!! If you have not made whip cream before be sure to follow these tips: chill beaters and bowl before mixing - mix until you have the consistency you want. If you over mix your cream will turn to butter, if you under mix your cream will be runny. Once you have made whip cream put it in the fridge while you make the cheese mix. When cheese mixture is well mixed, fold in whipped cream. If you do not know how to fold it in, do not be scared. Pour whip cream on top of cheese mixture and stir in by scraping down the far side of bowl and coming up the other side. (Bringing some cheese mix to the top) continue this motion turning the bowl a little each time, until you have an even consistency throughout. I hope this helps.
