About this Cook
I like to cook. I like to eat. Don't like to exercise. :-(
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook any receipe that is beautiful to look at.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We've made tamales at Christmas. We try to eat together alot.
My cooking triumphs
I once made a Cooking Light turkey receipe that looked exactly like the picture! Wheee!
My cooking tragedies
When I was little (~12), I tried to make popcorn balls. I misread the recipe and added 1 cup of salt instead of 1 cup of sugar! ha! ha! Also since I never saw my mother put shortening into the pan when she made fried eggs, I tried to make them once using water. Ugh!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread
This is so good I could eat it for weeks! I made a couple of adjustments based on the what the other reviewers said: 1/2 oil with 1/2 applesauce, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup white, Flour changed to 1/2 white, 1/2 whole wheat, 1 cup mini chocolate chips, 3T flax seeds. I made 2 9x5 loaves and 6 muffins. It came out dense and didn't rise as much on the loaves but who cares? It was fantastic!

Six Week Bran Muffins
Loved them. I did substitute the shortening with the butter/applesauce combo. I also added dried fruit. Delicious! Changed measurements to 36 "US" instead of the 216 listed. It looks like it'll make about 36 medium size muffins.
