At birth, he was 3lbs 8 oz and 16 inches- at 12 months he is 16lbs and 27 inches. He is under the 5th percentile on the growth… MORE

I started a little baking business in my home about a year and a half ago, and it has really taken off! I do lots of holiday orders, with some birthdays and bread in between :) It's a little extra money, and I still get to be with my kids! I thought I'd share some of my Valentine… MORE

Sorry folks! It's been a long time since I've checked in :) I've been very busy filling loads of holiday orders, taming endless piles of laundry, and preparing for a wonderful Christmas with my kids and hubby. We spent two weekends working at my Dad's Christmas Tree Farm, and have spent the… MORE

Yep...life has been busy, and I haven't had time to do much blogging! However, I have been working on perfecting a new recipe- my Toasted Ravioli with Basil Cream Sauce. It's one of my new favorite meals- great with an ear of Sweet Corn. I use Meat Ravioli, but you could easily use another… MORE

Let's face it...it's been too hot to cook!! My husband and I have been eating lots of salads lately!! However, I was really wanting something a little more exciting, so I used my crock pot to cook up a beef roast. I added dried red chilies, oregano and garlic to the pot as well. The result… MORE

I get Rachael Ray's magazine...and although I LOVE reading food magazines, I don't usually follow the recipes. I like to read them for ideas and inspiration! In the latest issue of Everyday with Rachael Ray, they feature a section on things to do with a box of cake mix. One of those… MORE

About Me
I am a stay-at-home mom with a 3 yr old daughter (She is a GREAT eater!) and a 3 week old Preemie Boy! I am working with a tight budget, but have expensive taste in food! I rarely follow a recipe... don't like to measure! I love to read cookbooks, magazines and food blogs for new inspiration.
My favorite things to cook
Anything Mexican or Italian.. experimenting with more Asian cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
LOVE my mom's Sage Dressing and crab breads- two holiday favorites!
My cooking triumphs
I make a mean Sage Brown Butter sauce for Ravioli, great Pot Stickers and a yummy Kielbasa and Spinach soup!
My cooking tragedies
The year I set the stove on fire the day before Thanksgiving trying to dry out my bread for dressing... had to call the fire dept and spent the next two days cleaning up the residue from the fire extinguisher. On the plus side- my house was insanely clean for the holidays!
