About this Cook
I have enjoyed cooking since I was able to read a recipe. I used to copy recipes out of cookbooks and paste them in a notebook to save for when I "grew up". Now, I'm grown up and enjoy digging through the web for original family recipes that the folks out there have to share.
My favorite things to cook
Currently I've been searching for healthy recipes that I can fix for my family and myself. I am a post-op weight loss surgery patient and have to restrict the amounts of sugars and fats that I take in. It's quite the challenge to find recipes that meet this requirement and are pleasing to my family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
A good old-fashioned Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixin's is my favorite cooking tradition.
My cooking triumphs
I actually made a Boston Cream Pie from scratch for my husband one year. It had many steps to it, and was considered a "difficult" recipe. But, I did it! And he enjoyed it very much.
My cooking tragedies
Well, I tend to throw leftovers in one dish and mix them up together to see what I get. Mostly, the family won't go near it. So I guess leftover casserole would be my constant goof.

Chuckwagon Stew
The aroma of this dish slowly cooking in the crockpot wets your mouth with anticipation. From my youngest child to my husband, this recipe was a huge hit! Definitely an addition to our favorite meal list. I am a post-op gastric bypass patient, and I enjoyed a tiny amount of this.
