Plum Clafouti

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
This is so good and so easy. It looks and tastes like it came from an elegant French bakery! Adults loved it; kids not so much (because it's not super sweet and has a sophisticated texture).

DarlisJ's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2011
This is just a classic, All-American apple pie. You can leave the pumpkin pie spice out or reduce the amount, but when I try to figure out why people like my apple pie so much I honestly think the pumpkin pie spice may be what makes it taste extra good.

Flathead Cherry Compote

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
This only takes a few minutes to make, yet it adds so much flavor, color, and specialness to your meal. The consistency should be a thin sauce with tender-firm cherries. If your sauce is too runny, simply mix a couple of teaspoons of corn starch with a bit of water, stir that into the cherry mixture and bring it back up to a boil; it will thicken nicely as it cools.

Roasted Lamb with Root Vegetables

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
Simple and elegant, and very flexible. Go ahead and use about any root vegetable you like or have on hand; the ones listed in the recipe are just suggestions. I have even used chunks of squash as one of the vegetables, and it turned out great.

Outback Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
Perfect! Moist, substantial, healthy (if you don't eat an entire loaf yourself)! I didn't change anything, except (sorry!) I didn't have any rye flour on hand so substituted oat flour. A really nice change of pace from white breads; great with a beef entree or as a side with a salad. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Yummy Yam Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
Light, tasty, colorful, great mix of textures -- perfect side dish for Thanksgiving. Some of my guests that could not eat pumpkin pie for dessert (due to wheat allergies) ate this instead! It's that good!

Richard's Chicken Marbella

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
A crowd-pleasing dish - and since most of the work is done ahead of time, this wonderful dinner entree is actually pretty stress-free. Great blend of flavors that kids and adults both like. The chicken can be marinated in the fridge up to a couple of days - it'll just make the meat all the more moist!

Spooky Witches' Fingers

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
These were SUCH a hit at our Halloween party. Kids and adults love them because they're buttery delicious and so fun! The dough is easy to shape if chilled properly first. Decorating was fun and easy. Make these - and double the batch!

These are my new favortie cookie. The taste and texture remind me of a rich version of a healthy snack bar. Love 'em.

Bacon Ranch Pea Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
Very good, but the ranch dressing was a little overpowering. I personally prefer the Seven Layer Salad recipe to this - it has similar ingredients but its presentation is more attractive and the taste is creamier.

My family prefers regular french toast, but I like the convenience and timesavings with this method!

BUSH'S® Mini Turkey Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
My children and husband liked this a lot. It wasn't as "sloppy" as most sloppy joe recipes I've tried in the past and seemed more hearty - probably because of the beans, which were a surprisingly good addition!

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
I expected this scratch cake to taste better than a box mix, but I like my box mix cake just as well and this one I had trouble with sticking to the pan which I never do with my box cake. I'll keep looking for a great chocolate cake recipe.

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2010
Maybe I did something wrong, but this turned out more like a big kind-of dry biscuit than a bread. It was okay, but I think I'll try a different recipe next St. Patty's Day.

Amazing Slow Cooker Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
My husband thought this dish was okay, but my kids didn't like it. Too orangy-tasting for them. I didn't have fun preparing it - messy and cumbersome process of dipping chicken in soup and frying; then most of it didn't stick to the chicken during frying. Most of the can of soup is unused, so you just throw it out afterward, which is wasteful. The finished dish isn't visually appealing.
