For my first time making biscuits, and for the fact that I made these to quench a sudden, intense craving for biscuits, these were okay. Not exactly good, but they weren't bad. They came out more cakey than flaky (which may be my own fault, considering I used butter instead of shortening) and entirely too salty, and after baking for 13 minutes the bottoms were burnt and the biscuits as whole were slightly dry.
This recipe is basic and has potential- next time I'll use shortening as the recipe suggests, cut the salt in half and check the biscuits after 11-12 minutes instead of 13. But for now, it only gets 3 stars.
