The ladyfingers were wonderful but I didn't end up following the recipe for the filling or the syrup because I thought it would be too sweet and rich with all the cream and sugar. I ended up dousing the ladyfingers in just a mixture of the rum and espresso and using the filling recipe on the mascarpone cheese container (whipped egg whites, rum, sugar and the cheese). It came out delicious.
