I love food! Other than a bit of fish on a rare occasion, I don't eat meat. I'm trying to focus on natural super yummy foods to make. On the day to day basis, I'm usually cooking for just me, but I love cooking for others too!
My favorite things to cook
This is way to difficult to define. I love the summer vegetables, but I love soups, stews, and comfort foods in the winter time. I crave pizza, crepes, snack foods, smoothies, pastas, and things with cheese.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My parents are Dutch, so I grew up on potatoes and greens, soup and some special treats (like those for New Year's Eve)

Quinoa Black Bean Burgers
Most excellent. I didn't have green pepper, so I used left over corn. I also added some garbanzo beans from my fridge. I increased the garlic and spices, and added paprika and chili powder. Like other users, I baked these in the oven. (400 degrees 20 minutes on one side, flip, 15 minutes on the other side). The texture and flavor were great. I can see making different variations of this recipe.

Roasted Garlic Zucchini and Tomatoes
I made the recipe as written and served it over pasta. I did add 8 oz of mushrooms. So easy and very delicious!

Vegetarian Lentil Spaghetti
Oh, so good! I sauteed some garlic and onion in the sauce pan before adding the tomatoes and lentils. I am guessing some green peppers would also be yummy. I doubled the amount of lentils, making a thicker "meatier" sauce. I also added some Italian seasoning when adding the sesame seeds. Parmesean cheese flakes on the top gave this a special touch. This is a recipe that's easy and could easily be varied depending what you like and what you have on hand.
