Crisp Peanut Candies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2011
These were ok, they were extremely easy to make, but hubby and kids didn't really care for them to much

Candy Cane Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2011
This was very disappointing, the texture came out fine, it just taste like white chocolate chips with candy cane pieces, nothing spectacular that warrants the high ratings. Maybe additional peppermint extract should be added for more peppermint flavor. I would not make this again, I feel I wasted my time and money on something that was not very good.

Zucchini Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
These should be called Zucchini sugar cakes. They were great and reminded me of old fashioned sugar cakes. I didn't have raisins or cloves, so I didn't add them, may be why I only ended up with 18 sugar cakes, I mean cookies. Oh, I did use butter instead of margarine. I will definetly make these again.

Chocolate Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2011
This is my new favorite zucchini recipe. It was so moist and tasty. I didn't feel as guilty about eating it since it had zucchini in it. I did leave out raisens and nuts, since I didn't have them. I only had dark cocoa powder which I actually think put this recipe over the top (used a little less than the 1/2 cup the recipe calls for).

The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
This was not the best lemon bar recipe. It was ok. I thought the crust was way to buttery (and I really like butter), I was going to go with my instinct and just use 1/2 cup butter, I should have. The filling was dense and heavy, I should have known four eggs would make for a dense filling. Save your butter for a better receipe.

Mom's Sticky Chicken From 1972

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
Not sure if this is worth all the work. It was good. I used boneless chicken breast and cut into bite size pieces. Tasted very similar to szechuan chicken which we get from the chinese restuar. after purchasing the chicken it may actually turn out to be cheaper and less work to just get Chinese to go. I may make this again, maybe instead I will make boneless Buffalo wings.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
This was easy enough that my husband actually made dinner. He did put the onions and peppers in the food processor because kids would be picky about seeing the peppers. This was very good, everyone had seconds.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
Me and my 9 yr old daughter enjoyed making and eating these. The truffles were easy to make and looked like we bought them from a chocolate shop. These will be a holiday tradition.

Ghirardelli® Triple Chocolate Truffle Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2010
Made for a potluck at work and was able to get 16 servings out of it. A little slice of this is all that is needed. Very nice presentation and tasted just like a chocolate truffle and very dense brownie. Family loved it and stated how it tasted like dessert in a restuarant however only half got eaten at the potluck. Not sure if people were watching their waistline at work or if they chose the pumpkin pie over chocolate. May make again just for family gathering.

Pineapple Pretzel Fluff

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2010
This was an unexpected treat. Really good, hubby couldn't stop eating. I only used half the amount of butter and sugar and it was still sweet and delicious. Will double pretzels next time, I loved the "pretzel brittle" part of this receipe.

Sausage Cheese Grits

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
All I can say is "Wow", these were great and the whole family really enjoyed this for breakfast. Never thought my son would eat this due to the texture of the grits. He even called me the best cook in the world. Have made twice so far and used regular grits and cheddar instead of Gouda ( Gouda was a little pricey).

Mini Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
Made recipe as stated but halved all ingredients. Had ten pies which was plenty for my family of four. Great cake recipe. Filling was ok. I would prefer a more whipped and fluffy filling for the center. Will use a different filling next time.

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
This is the first time I have made and ate a Tres Leches Cake. Always wanted to taste one. This is different then your normal cake because it s more wet then moist. I followed the directions except I only used about 3/4 of the milk mixture and I topped the whipped cream with carmel sauce. I thought the cake was ok but my husband loved it. For me it was the texture I didn't like though the cake did taste good. My husband grew up eating desserts similar to this. I give it four stars since my husband loved.

Cheeseburger Soup I

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
This did taste like a cheeseburger-reminded me a little of Hamburger Helper. I didn't have celery or parsely. Added extra cheese, only added two cups potato (did not have enough potatoes for 4 cups) and skipped the flour in the soup. Family loved the soup. I liked the soup, and probably will make again. A also added about two cups of small pasta bows since I didn't have the 4 cups of potato.

Cookie-Crusted Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
Peach cobbler is my all time favorite dessert so I am always trying different recipes looking for the best. I prefer a cobbler-crumb combination for the crust but gave this a try. I actually cut all ingredients in half except for the peaches( used about 6 medium) and baked in a pie plate. This cobbler was more like peaches with a very, very sweet sugar cookie on top. It reminded me more of a crumb. The first couple spoonfuls were good, but I too got overwhelmed after the initial spoonfuls from the sweetness like another reviewer stated. This recipe was super fast to make and I may try it again but next time reduce the sugar. It is a quick dessert if one is needed for a potluck or other occasion.

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
Super moist and fluffy. The perfect chocolate cupcake. These were excellent. I did not have a full 1 oz bottle of red food coloring so mine did not turn out so red but it didn't make a difference they were chocolate and looked like chocolate cupcakes. I did reduce cocoa to 1/3 cup because I used dark cocoa powder. I also used a whipped cream icing which was equally fluffy. 2 cups chilled heavy cream 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar and 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract(mix together w/electric mixture till stiff peaks start to form). My finished batch tasted like they came from a gourmet bakery. Topped with valentine themed sprinkles.

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
Even though I like cream cheese, and I like every other ingredient in this recipe I was disappointed in the end result. I just didn't really like the cream cheese mixed in with the beans, peppers and onions. I'd prefer leaving the cream cheese out and topping with shredded colby jack cheese once the filling is on the tortilla and adding a fresh squeeze of lime juice to top it off.

Simple Roasted Chickpea Snack

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
These were great. I used a premixed seasoning which incorporated all the spices listed in the recipe. I did end up baking them a little longer then the recipe stated. These remind me of a mexican snack called havas that I used to buy at a mexican grocery store.

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
This was very good (one of the best I have had). I doubled the parmesan since I didn't have Romano. I also added about 1/2 cup of mozzarella to the dip mixture itself with the other cheeses and topped with the 1/4 cup mozzarella. Mine was not dry, it turned out creamy. I think the quality of ingredients do make a difference so use premium artichokes and cheeses. I would recommend using as mall clove of garlic, I used a large clove and it was garlicky.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

These are great! And very easy to make. I made these for a Halloween party and called them Goblin Appendages. They worked great with the Halloween theme since they are not the most pleasant looking appetizers. Served with a a blue cheese dip from this site.
