Awesome Italian Hoagie Spread

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2014
Delicious! I asked the deli to thick, thick slice the turkey and salami. I then used my chopper to get a fine dice...excellent!! Personal preference used sharp cheddar and no onions. The Flipsides are a must. Sturdy and delicious!

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2014
Delicious! I used a 16 oz. bag a frozen chopped spinach that I heated in a pan to defrost and then cooled. I also added sautéed portabella mushrooms and as a personal preference, no onions. Thought it might be too much spinach but it was perfect! As with others, only 1/4 cup of butter...can't imagine it with any more than that.

The Best Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2014
Nice easy marinade. I wasn't sure about the soy sauce for my tastes, but it blended well with the other ingredients and was not overpowering.

Bagel Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2014
Great topping for a baked potato, as well. No MSG and one "glass jar" of dried beef. Note: As one of seven kids, we ate so much creamed chipped beef (SOS) that almost all of our drinking glasses were from the dried beef...good memory!

Very good and I thought quite easy to make! Next time I may add chocolate chips with the cereal and nuts...but only because I love chocolate!

Tangy Shrimp Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2014
Easy and delicious! Like others and as personal preferences: Used Miracle Whip, cooked my own shrimp and no peppers. Had chives in my garden so used those as well. Made it for a party last night and was asked for the recipe and my husband is still raving about it.

Amazing Muffin Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2013
Very good! I used tater tots instead of hash browns, which I broke apart and ham instead of sausage...then I was running late so I mixed everything together, potatoes and all (but no butter), with one additional egg and only 1.5 cups of cheese. Fast and easy!

Oven Baked Jambalaya

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
Just the right amount of heat. Followed the recipe pretty close - did use the suggested spice blend recipe which was very good. Cooked my rice separately - personal choice because I used brown rice - which left extra broth. I just ladled out the extra broth (which made a wonderful spicy tomato soup for lunch the next day) and added the rice and uncooked shrimp about 15 minutes from the end. My guests loved it!

Beef Bourguignon II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2013
Very Good. I used fresh mushrooms that I sauteed a bit and added at the end so I replaced canned mushroom liquid in the recipe with beef broth. I also used jarred pearl onions added in the end. Wonderful flavor.

Sweet, Salty, Spicy Party Nuts

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2013
Excellent. Used non-stick foil and had no trouble at all. Did stir during cooling. Used Old Bay instead of cumin...just a personal preference. As did another reviewer, I used 4 cups of deluxe mixed nuts. Because of this, I did omit the salt, which I found to be just right for us. My husband can't stop eating them.

Pumpkin Pie Party Mix

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2013
I have made this several times in the past few months and it is always a hit. The first time I forgot the vanilla but the flavor was so wonderful, I have not added it since. Wanting to double the recipe without too much of the same cereal, I added 2 cups each of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Golden Grahams and Snyder's regular "Snaps" pretzels. The Snaps are a great addition, the little squares in the pretzel hold the sugar/spice mixture perfectly and the salt gives a nice contrast. Just because of the large amount I was making, I baked the mix in a large roasting pan at 250 degrees for 1 hour stirring every 20 minutes...then let cool completely. Wonderful!!

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2013
Delicious! I did follow other reviewers by microwaving the beans in their own liquid for about 6 minutes. Rinsed in cold and then added the step of snapping the peel off each bean. I know!!...a little time-consuming but that day I had the time (and patience). Beans only took a minute or two to become completely smooth. Made about 4 dozen mini muffins which were done in 15 minutes. Topped with Lite cherry filling. Very Good!

Cranberry Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2012
Added dark chocolate chips (chocolate, cranberry and orange...yum!)and did not use glaze. Great just after they cooled but my husband and I both thought that the consistency changed within hours to a more soft, cake-like cookie. Found that they were a little better if kept refrigerated. Excellent flavor - just an odd change of consistency.
