About this Cook
I'm a wife and stay at home mom of two. I've always loved cooking - ever since my Grandmother and I would sit and watch "The French Chef" every Saturday! I have a fairly extensive cookbook collection, but wind up here on Allrecipes more often than I crack open a book. I try to make at least one new recipe each week.
My favorite things to cook
I like baking - a lot. But I make dinner for the family at least 5 nights each week. Right now, I'm into sauces. I can't honestly think of one thing to say is my favorite thing to cook!
My favorite family cooking traditions
One of my favorite things is having my daughters help me in the kitchen. I'm hoping to pass my love of food and cooking on to them. Other than that, my family has a sweet bread recipe that I make for all holidays because it reminds me of home.
My cooking triumphs
When my younger daughter turned 6, she asked me to make homemade cream puffs for her birthday party. I was supremely intimidated, having never made choux paste before, but they turned out beautifully. My sweet girl said they were the best ever, which made my day
My cooking tragedies
I've been known to forget about Balsamic Vinegar reducing in a saucepan. Yes, I've burned out two pans that way! You'd think I'd learn after the first one!!!

7-Up(R) Biscuits
I've made these biscuits before but didn't have a copy of the recipe handy. So I turned to AllRecipes expecting that a recipe with a 4 star average would be okay. The ingredients were the same. The amounts seemed right. But they were NOT right. Two simple things make this so different than others - and not in a good way! If you make these and follow the directions, the batter/dough is WAY too runny and sticky. We still tried the finished biscuits and they were flat and more like thick, weird pancakes. Not tasty.

My family loved these. We halved the recipe (only 3 of us) and it turned out great. No changes necessary!

Parmesan Crusted Chicken
I didn't want to like this recipe. Mayo, parmesan cheese and bread crumbs? That's it? But I've seen it in various forms for a while now and finally tried it last night. WOW! It's delicious! The only change I made was seasoning the chicken with a little seasoning blend prior to putting the mayo/cheese mix on top. Turned out GREAT. The only change I would make would be to pound the chicken to an even thinness. New regular in the recipe lineup.
