Life is good at the Beach!
About this Cook
I like to try new recipes and my husband is a "good" sport about them. Every Monday I fix a complete 5 course dinner, using mostly new recipes; sometimes they are great and others are not so GREAT!. I love to play golf and I love to dance!
My favorite things to cook
I love to make cakes, pies and cookies; however, my husband does not eat sweets. I, therefore, love to give away my bake goods.........everyone seems to appreciates them - so I am assuming they are good!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Trying new appetizers is always fun but I still like to make Southern favorites; meat loaf, mashed potatoes.
My cooking triumphs
Peanutbutter pie- I won over my step-daughter over with this many years ago and she still asks for it!I have recently gotten into baking breads..........which has become a challenge.
My cooking tragedies
Love what you do and be prepared ahead of time; such as having all ingredients on hand and having adequate time to prepare your dishes.

Bacon Roll Ups II
easy and sooooooooo good - I suggest cutting the crust off the bread as it looks and cooks better.

Blueberry-Almond Energy Bars
very good recipe and so healthy---------I tried even harder to make it more healthy by subbing agave for the maple syrup and cut up prunes for the blueberries (that I did not have). I, also, added 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce and baked in mini-muffin pans as suggested. My picky husband liked them a lot!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup
very good - it needs a little more spice; ie. cumin and additional garlic and hot sauce.
