Honey's Butter Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
This cake is delicious. I am eating a piece of it now, it's still warm. Only used 1-1/2 cup of the sugar and it is sweet enough for me and my husband. Also didn't use the cinnamon and extra sugar for the inside. Baked it in a 9X13 glass pan for one hour, put some sprinkles on top. Will definitely make this one again. Yummy!

I used two sliced leeks instead of the onions. Eliminated the mayo, flour and butter. Baked it in a cast iron pan. Love this recipe. Yummy. SORRY, THIS WAS MEANT FOR SCALLOPED POTATOES AND ONIONS.

This was delicious. I did not have the cumin, mustard powder and lime juice. Will definitely make this again. We ate it at room temperature. Easy cleanup.

Spiced Yogurt Pound Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
Just made this cake and am eating it warm. I did sift some powdered sugar over the top when I took it out of the oven. It's moist and just the right amount of spices. I did reduce the sugar by 1/4 cup. Would make this one again.

Pancakes I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
I just made these and added 1 tbls. vanilla extract. It's a very good basic recipe. I did let the batter rest a few minutes. Next time I will try it with different flavorings and use some white whole wheat flour.

Peking Duck

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
I made this recipe today with the following changes. Steamed it for half hour, did not have the parsley or orange. Roasted it for two hours. Made my own Chinese pancakes and served the duck on the pancake with sliced scallions, sliced cucumber and hoisen sauce. It was delicious and there was enough for three people with none leftover.

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2010
This is a delicious cake. I made this yesterday with the following changes. Didn't have any buttermilk so I substituted yogurt, added 1/2 tsp. baking powder and eliminated the nuts (dietary contraints). Baked it in a 9X13 pan for 30". Sprinkled with powder sugar when done. It was very moist and fluffy. Will definitely make this again.

Just finished making this cake. I added a tsp. vanilla and extra cup of applesauce. Didn't use nuts/raisins since hubby can't have them. However, the cake was delicious and very moist. I will definitely make this one again. It's a very easy recipe and quick to make.

Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2011
This is the second time I am making this recipe. The first time I made it with the butter icing. Today I omitted the icing and added one cup of coconut to the batter. Both times the cake came out moist and delicious. This is an easy, quick cake to make.

I make kale like this all the time, except I use more garlic since we like it. Sometimes I add a few sprinkles of crushed red chili pepper flakes for an extra kick.

Jewish Apple Cake II

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
Just finished having a slice while still warm from the oven. This cake is delicious, nice and moist. The changes I made were to use half brown sugar and half white, for a total of two cups. Also used half cup applesauce and half cup oil. I added allspice, nutmeg and clove since I like it a bit more spicy. I used about two ups diced various apples that I can on hand and did not layer. Just mixed all the wet ingredients into the dry ones and added the diced apples in the end. Baked for 50 minutes in a 9X13 tray. Will definitely make this one again, with less sugar next time and will try it with diced peaches when they come into season.

Just made this and it is delicious. I used almond milk since we don't use dairy. Next time I will freeze it in popsicle forms as some reviewer mentioned.
