About this Cook
I really had to start cooking when my daughter started eating solids (June 2008). My husband has crazy work hours so we use to eat 1-2 meals out everyday. I can cook off a recipe and am slowly learning how to season and create my own recipes. I really want to expose my 2 year old to all kinds of food so I am trying a new recipe a week. I am all about easy and fast right now.
My favorite things to cook
I love Mexican food. I all about spicy food. I don't cook it often because I cook mild and I love medium-hot.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. We always have a breakfast casserole in the morning. I am all about the traditional turkey dinner for Thanksgiving but I love Christmas because it can be anything. Growing up we had pork pies (english dish) in morning and I miss those. They are really tough to make.
My cooking triumphs
I made an awesome turkey dinner in (2008). It was the best turkey and stuffing (my brother-in-law helped with stuffing). I used a recipe from this site for brining a turkey. It was great.
My cooking tragedies
Well, there has been many. Most include setting the smoke alarm off. I would say at least once every three months something turns out burnt. The worse thing I have made recently (12-2008) was this cherry chocolate cake recipe that I tried cupcakes with. Needless to say all of them got thrown out and had to start over. I figure if I don't have disasters once in awhile I won't learn.

Stuffed Strawberries
These are so good. I made it exactly as the recipe was written and my husband compared them to heaven (my word since I can't type his). My sister told me I didn't make enough. I sprinkled them with cocoa powder to make them pretty.

Famous Chicken Francaise
This was really good, my family enjoyed it. I am going to reduce the lemon juice in the mixture that is poured over since I had to cook my chicken longer since they were thick. I did use the juices to make a chicken gravy (mixed it with a gravy packet since I was out of bullion) and it was fantastic. I will definitely be making this again.

Amazing Chicken
I was really surprised how good this was. My whole family liked it. The chicken was so juicy and not dried out at all.
