About this Cook
Science teacher by day, entrepreneur by night! We have a quixtar/amway franchise that is a fabulous source of extra income that I can spend on kitchen gadgets. My latest obsession is a blender by blendtec. I want one sooo bad. My joy in life is cooking for others and hosting people in my home.
My favorite things to cook
Things that make my husband happy!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Inviting friends over and watching them eat themselves silly.
My cooking triumphs
Mastering buffalo chicken sauce. Doug thinks I am a hero!
My cooking tragedies
Pudding didn't turn out to be pudding :-(

Roasted Spicy Garbanzo Beans
I pressed 2 cloves of garlic and let it bake with the beans instead of using roasted garlic. I served these on top of a romaine salad with onions and raw zuccini. The dressing was a mixture of lemon juice and olive oil. The flavor intensity was yum-o.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
Use Red Potatoes...they hold their shape through cooking and won't become mushy like russets will. I used 1 box of Chicken broth instead of water and bouillon (reduces sodium intake) and added 2 tablespoons of fresh chopped sage and thyme when I added the milk/butter mixture. Tastes even better the next day!
