Going food shopping

A lot of people  don't enjoy food shopping. I really enjoy going to the grocery store. I really like to bring my husband, he looks at shelves I don't really pay attention to. We have tried quite a few things that he has suggested and we have enjoyed them.
I really enjoy looking at the international isle because there are so many different spices and condiments that I have never tried. When I get better at cooking I will be adventurous and buy some to try.
I love buying a big batch of kale for soups from the veggie section or fresh parsley for sauces. Picking out the best apple or the perfect bunch of bananas.
Some people can't stand to go grocery shopping but not me.In fact I'll be going tomorrow to pick up a few things with a smile on my face.

On most days I enjoy grocery shopping. Some days I just want to grab and go. My daughter could spend hours in the grocery store.

I love to shop for groceries. I just wish someone else would put them away.

I have just recently discovered I like to go grocery shopping. When my kids were small I hated it. Who wanted to shop with 2 little kids in tow? Then, as they got older I was always in a rush - get in and get out - we had better places to be like in the bleachers or on the sidelines coaching one of their sports. Now that they are grown I find I have plenty of time to go and browse the aisles. I find it fun for the most part. I also have more $$ now so I can try new things rather than just what is on sale.

I love grocery shopping. I could go every day and be happy. Course then I would be completely broke :)

Sounds like you would have a Ball at the new Winco that opened up down the street from me. Over 90,000 sq ft of shopping bliss! A bulk section up the wazoo, a meat counter and meat section for days, sky high canisters of coffee beans as tall as the ceiling. Heck, they even carry honey in bulk Including bees! LOL Yeah, there is a warning label about not opening the lid, just use the pour spout. I also do not take the hubby and that makes life much simpler. For him and Me! LOL

I should have been born a woman my wife said, I can go in and spend some money. That "Winco" sounds nice.

When I go to Whole Foods, I stand in awe staring at the produce section, the misters going on the fruits and veggies, cool mist in the air. It is like an art exhibit, all the colors and shapes. God is the best artist and architect.

the closest Whole Foods is about 90 mins from me, never been but I heard it's nice.

King Sparta: Whole Foods is another world, but so so so expensive. It is a treat to go there, I have to keep myself from going routinely. Mostly organic. The meat selection is unbelievable but 3X the cost of grocery. The only meat I have bought due to the cost, and despite how beautiful it looks, is freshly ground lamb for $6-7 a lb. and it was awesome for lamb and feta and kalamata oregano sliders. The olive bar is beyond the beyond. About 20 varieties, $10 lb., you pick what you want. My grandson is nutty about olives and asked to go to Whole Foods and assemble a container as his b'day present. So, on a boring day or weekend, toddle on off the 90 miles to Whole Foods as a road trip, mine has a cafe so you can lunch there. Also have all manner of prepared foods, salads, sandwiches, etc. Again prices outrageous, but still....

About Me
I like to try to create new recipes for cooking and baking contest. I am a certified dialysis technician I am married to a great guy who is my best friend. We have a camp in Newport Maine and we enjoy spending as much time there as possible.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook or bake most anything except fish. I am not great at all recipes but the best things I make are soups and stews. I like to try new things. I love to read everyones reviews because it helps me to avoid some of the mistakes they have made.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Thanksgiving we spend at my sister-in-laws house. We always bring a ham and some kind of appetizer. This year they invited my dad to go with us.He would have been alone due to my passing two monthes earlier and my sister traveling to see her son. He had a great time and will come from now on.
My cooking triumphs
My triumph is that I have finally aloud my husband to cook in the kitchen. I am always afraid of what he would make for us to eat. Turns out he is a pretty good cook and we have a great time cooking together.
My cooking tragedies
My bread making never seems to come out right. Usually come out very hard and doesn't rise. I hope to conquer this some day.
