After 19 years of marriage I finally got it right. Thanks to allrecipes.com I have been making some great meals for me and my husband. It is so easy to just put a word in and search and for an idea. I always look at the ratings first. The more ratings the more apt I am to make the recipe. I can't wait to try other  recipes and different ethnic groups. Finally I am getting to be the cook I always wanted to be :)

well done, soupy! I was a so-so cook until I really began to USE Allrecipes. Like you, I'm a review hound. I sort them by most helpful first, then look at the worst reviews to see where the recipe failed some people. Are we having fun in the kitchen or what?

Lucylove, I am so proud now when I cook. I have been trying things I would never had before I found this site. I am going to try baklava next. It will probably put my cooking skills to the test.

OMG! I made baklava from a recipe here last week for the first time. I loved it when I lived in the middle east, and I missed it. Excellent results, you're going to love it. The best thing I can tell you is this: put cool sauce on warm baklava, and it won't get soggy. :) Also, cut it before you bake it, but don't cut it all the way through to the dish: leave a little at the bottom so the sauce stays in your layers. Good luck!

I miss Baklava (sigh). But I console myself with how much better off I am without it. Yeah, I know, but I've got to rationalize where I can, lol.

About Me
I like to try to create new recipes for cooking and baking contest. I am a certified dialysis technician I am married to a great guy who is my best friend. We have a camp in Newport Maine and we enjoy spending as much time there as possible.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook or bake most anything except fish. I am not great at all recipes but the best things I make are soups and stews. I like to try new things. I love to read everyones reviews because it helps me to avoid some of the mistakes they have made.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Thanksgiving we spend at my sister-in-laws house. We always bring a ham and some kind of appetizer. This year they invited my dad to go with us.He would have been alone due to my passing two monthes earlier and my sister traveling to see her son. He had a great time and will come from now on.
My cooking triumphs
My triumph is that I have finally aloud my husband to cook in the kitchen. I am always afraid of what he would make for us to eat. Turns out he is a pretty good cook and we have a great time cooking together.
My cooking tragedies
My bread making never seems to come out right. Usually come out very hard and doesn't rise. I hope to conquer this some day.
